Some things stay with you a little longer, this is one of them.
I knew since the beginning that I wanted this celebration to be rooted in things I enjoy—real connections and meaningful conversations.
I’ve been listening to
@pancatera since the very first episode, and knew early on that bringing them to this year’s Kartini Day would bring a fresh energy to the event, and
@blessedmelon and
@carolinesoerachmat welcomed me with such openness 🤍
Mba Carol, Mba Kai, Mba KB, Mba Mar, thank you for creating a safe space, to navigate raw and vulnerable topics and bring them into conversations so effortlessly. At some point, I even forgot I still had the whole event running and needed to be everywhere all at once, cause I was so drawn into the conversation 🤣. Shoutout to
@mstjiang for building such enthusiastic environment from the beginning to the end! 🩷
To complement the session,
@kata.puan came in. For Hari Kartini, I knew that celebrating women’s voices is central—cause what does it mean to celebrate, if not all voices are heard? Through this corner, you would sit down with Stefany, sometimes for 5 minutes, sometimes 20, and slowly, conversations would unfold, and Stefany would translate it into something tangible—a piece of poem.
I saw people pause, shed tears, laugh, and end everything with a quiet, long hug. What started as a supporting element turned out to be everything on its own. For that, I thank you, Kak Stef, for giving us what we needed the most: being understood.
Also, take a peek at the beautiful canapés! My initial brief was simple, “Mba, buat Hari Kartini aku mau canape temanya masakan Indonesia, presentationnya harus cantik dan manis karena ini hari perempuan,” and they delivered! The choice to have a Jamu Corner was also deliberate, to remind a long passed-down tradition of women as healers, reinterpreted it here through a modern lens with a live jamu mixologist.
Being able to orchestrate it all from 0 to finish and seeing every details just ‘clicked’, was incredibly fulfilling. To everyone who contributed and gave tremendous support—you know who you are—thank you x1000. This wouldn’t have come together the way it did without each of you ❤️
