I almost didn’t post this. A few days before my recital, I needed a traditional piece, something that spoke my own language. I reached out to a composer @thepoetpianist , and he graciously shared one of his works with me- Munachimso . I was grateful and I honestly thought learning it would be easy. It was in Igbo. I speak Igbo. So I assumed I’d be fine. But this piece humbled me deeply. I had already learnt my German, Italian, and French repertoire, yet this one , my own language was the most challenging. Reading African music required something different from me. The rhythms, the text, the way the music breathes. it wasn’t comfortable. And with just a few days to the recital, I struggled a lot . After the performance, I watched the video and felt dissatisfied. I felt like I didn’t do justice to it . Like it wasn’t my best singing. I kept going back and forth, asking myself if I should even post it at all. But then I remembered the journey. I remembered how hard it was to learn. How much it stretched me. How much it demanded of me in such a short time. And I realised that sometimes the value of a performance isn’t in its perfection, but in the honesty of showing up anyway. So I’m sharing this not because it’s flawless, but because it’s real. Deep gratitude to the composer @thepoetpianist for trusting me with Munachimso and for his generosity. Thank you for giving me a work that challenged me, grounded me, and reminded me why this path matters. Thank you to my accompanist @classicaltosin for helping in bringing the music to life Here it is. With all its imperfections. And with a heart of love.

This is officially my first recording of the year, and it already feels special. This project brought me into an ensemble setting, a space where music is built through listening, trust, and shared intention. Ensemble singing teaches you patience. You learn to breathe together, to blend, to support one another, and to allow your voice to serve something bigger than yourself. Every sound matters, but no sound stands alone. What made this experience even more meaningful was singing alongside my friends and classmates, people I’ve trained and grown with in the same vocal studio and school. Making music with them felt familiar, grounding, and deeply inspiring. And honestly, this feels a lot like life. We all have our voices, but it’s how we listen, collaborate, and show up for each other that creates harmony. It’s January, and I’m already working . Grateful, focused, and excited for what’s ahead.

Bach has slowly become one of my greatest companions in music. This year, I made a quiet but serious promise to myself: to dive deeply into his world and study some of his most incredible works. I remember one lesson when my teacher looked at me and said, “As a countertenor, you can’t escape Bach.” Something clicked in that moment. Since then, I’ve been completely drawn in, almost addicted to his music. The way Bach weaves harmony, and uses his ornamentation feels endless, profound, and alive every time I sing it. Kindly Enjoy my rehearsal singing Bach’s If Thor art near (Bist Du bei Mir )

Rehearsing Che farò senza Euridice by Gluck has been deeply rewarding. The progress has been tremendous, and taking time to document these rehearsal moments felt incredibly fulfilling. There’s something special about enjoying the process, the quiet work, the discoveries, the growth. I’ll continue to share this journey as I refine and update my repertoire. Thank you for being part of it.

Beyond building a global footwear and accessories brand @malikostudios , music has always lived at the very core of who I am. Singing is not just a passion for me . it is a gift, a calling, and a responsibility I carry with deep gratitude. Last year, I graduated from one of Nigeria’s finest conservatories, the MUSON School of Music @musonng through @mtnng foundation fully funded scholarship. Since then, I have intentionally taken time to grow, to listen, and to fully immerse myself in my musical journey performing in operas, choral concerts, and many other musical spaces that have shaped me profoundly. Today, with a full heart, I’m happy to share that I am now open and available for bookings. I have carefully refreshed my repertoire to suit a wide range of events and moments, each one approached with intention and soul. The countertenor voice is one of the rarest in the world, and I believe it deserves to be heard, felt, and remembered. I am very much open to traveling, wherever the music calls. If my journey resonates with you, I kindly ask for your support through recommendations, sharing my work, commenting, or simply listening. Every gesture means everything to me . I truly hope to do a lot of singing this year and to touch as many hearts as I can through music. Happy New Year to you all. Thank you for the love always I love you. Ebuka xxx

One of my highlights of 2025 was the honour of presenting my work at @malikostudios to the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, @jeannoelbarrot at the Forum Creation Africa It was a meaningful exchange, speaking about my practice of fusing diverse artisanal techniques with design to create pieces that are timeless, intentional, and rooted in craft. I also shared the impact of the work being done by @lagosxparis , made possible through the support of the French embassy in Nigeria @franceinnigeria , and how these cultural bridges continue to open new paths for dialogue and collaboration. As 2026 comes in its fullness, we look forward to creating deeper impact and carrying our stories, skills, and craftsmanship further across the world. Grateful to @aramalome for facilitating this meeting.
