Starting the day off with words of affirmation! Pictures of the set-up are in the slides, and the last one is the real secret to success. While I do cover instruments with spot mics, they might be muted in the mix (and in fact, that's ideal). The viola sound is 100% @sennheiser MKH800 Twins and... placement, and... @pacificsymphonymusicians viola Meredith Crawford. (Written in reverse order of importance.) Meredith played the Fantasy so beautifully, and I LOVED working with producer @ebpmusic because she's not afraid to move mics and players before ever moving a fader or trying EQ. We chased the sound we wanted in-the-moment, moving Meredith and moving the mics. What we do in the recording session *is the mix*. I was really thrilled to record this piece because composer Peter Dayton is a long-time friend. We first recorded together in 2015 for his American Masses in Baltimore and have done several CDs and concerts since then. He's not on a social media, but you can catch him on email and in-person. I’m so excited to share that there’s a new recording out by Orli Shaham and members of Pacific Symphony called American Tapestry! Chamber music by American composers highlighting the performers’ longtime collaboration as part of the Café Ludwig chamber music series, resulting in stellar performances and a wealth of superb contemporary music. This has been one of my favorite recording experiences EVER!!! It was pure joy from beginning to end!! Bravo to all the artists and composers and huge thanks to Christian Amonson (sound) and William Pruett (video) for capturing everything so gloriously!!! /us/album/american-tapestry/1877008178 /album/5M3Gf0o6VXRQfk1tfzb1mv?si=3yiywme5Tf-Ur0TNR-ALSg For a real trip - here are videos of all the works as we were recording!!! /watch?v=7dbRrY5tsUk&list=PL2d4745sRCfpKVcEWo1ZcqiFEZc0Guy

So proud and happy for my dearest friend Elaine Lee Martone - who took home the GRAMMY for Classical Producer of the Year - for the second year in a row - among her many other GRAMMYS!! I continue to marvel and be inspired at her gift of creativity and leadership! She was recipient of a Resonator lifetime achievement award earlier in the week. She is truly a force of nature and I’m thrilled to see her recognized for her gifts!! ❤️🤩🏆

For your GRAMMY first-round consideration!! Two entries from Apollos Fire - Le Tre Soprano is PACKED with amazing performances from “the three Amandas” and the stellar instrumentalists of Apollo’s Fire in Jeannette’s amazing concept album honoring the courage and strength of 16th-century women! I predict you won’t be able to stop listening once you start! The Bach Brandenburg No. 4 in this new recording by Alan Choo, Daphna Mor and Kathie Stewart is a jewel of a performance submitted in the Best Chamber Music Performance category. It’s on a compilation album called Bach’s Coffeehouse and the whole album is a blast! ENJOY! And voting members of the Academy, please consider these wonderful recordings!

I’m excited to share that my very first album, STORIES (re)TRACED, has been submitted for GRAMMY® nomination consideration! One instrument, four composers. Born out of my love for the violin and music as a force of empathy, this “maiden voyage” intimately celebrates the wonders that make us human. Storytelling, diversity, friendship, folk music, and beyond… Not to mention I got to indulge in my obsession with the music of Béla Bartók. I hope, in listening to the album, you’ll be able to find your own response to this perpetual question of what it means to be human ❤️ Link in bio to listen 🙏 ~ The amazing team that made this possible: Recording producer: Erica Brenner Recording and mixing engineer: Leslie Ann Jones Mastering engineer: Michael Romanowski Videography: Pilvax Films Album artwork: Geoff Robertson @gbrme #violin #violinist #grammy #foryourconsideration

And there's more! I had the great, good fortune of being interviewed by David Lake, host of Evening Eclectic on WRUU, a station out of Savannah, and the show will be broadcast tonight, from 8-10pm ET streaming at . We had a really, really lovely time of talking about music in general, and the new recording in particular. Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible, Lindsey Nelson, Collin J Rae, Sono Luminus, Charlie Pilzer, Dan Merceruio, and Erica Brenner and of course Christina Jensen of Jensen Artists!
