YEAR ONE: So often people asked “how’s married life?” and I didn’t really know how to answer that. How do you explain the billions of tiny moments that remind you why you said “ I do”?
It’s the leaving the front parking spot open when you know I’m coming home late, it’s the honest conversations about the impacts of getting another puppy, it’s the midday walks to get a little fresh air during the workday, it’s the tough conversations at midnight about meeting each other where we are, it’s experiencing the same things we experienced before we got married but with a new appreciation for it, it’s in sickness and in health, it’s frustration over simple things, it’s constant and constant prayer, it’s believing in one another, it’s celebrating the wins and learning from the losses (and we had a lot of losses), it’s learning each and every day about and from each other, it’s sometimes going to bed upset because everything can’t magically just be resolved when you’re tired, it’s napping on lazy Sunday’s and signing I love you every time we leave a room. There’s so much to say about #marriedlife and our journey as #newlyweds and most will be kept sacred between us.
