A report from Micro-Mobility for Europe highlights that e-bike trips increased by 72.3% between 2024 and 2025, but injuries per million kilometres dropped by 5.6%. The report is based on stats from Bolt, Dott, Lime, and Voi, the leading micro-mobility operators in Europe, and it suggests that bike hire schemes are maturing.

Cyplore is a new e-bike conversion kit designed for road and gravel bikes, aiming to bring lightweight electric support to existing set-ups.
It uses a rear hub motor, aero bottle-style battery and wireless control system, and is offered in two versions: a ready-to-ride wheel, or a build kit.
It’s also just launched on Kickstarter with early bird prices starting at $599 (around £444) for the build kit, and the modest crowdfunding target was surpassed minutes after the campaign went live.

A perfect storm of high fuel costs, public transport strikes and balmy weather have resulted in more London commuters than ever using the city’s hire e-bikes. On Tuesday, the first day of the latest round of Tube strikes, operator Voi’s e-scooter and e-bicycle usage was 52% higher than the same day last week and new user registrations increased by 110%.

Girona-based Niche Mobility says it intends to create a new category of e-bikes, replacing mechanical gearing with a fully automatic and digital system, which it plans to market to bike manufacturers from next year.
“There’s no shifting involved,” says Niche Mobility’s Jaume Vila. “The system continuously adapts to speed, cadence and terrain during the ride. The idea is to remove the need to manage gears entirely, especially in everyday use."
