I am only now able to express my deep sorrow and grief about the loss of our beloved dog, Butch. He was a constant and beloved companion. No person can compare to a dog like that. Annie and I went down to the San Lorenzo River near our place in Boulder Creek today for a deep cry. Butch loved nothing better than to retrieve sticks and balls from those waters. And when he did, his joy was as palatable as the water he would shake all over us. He loved Boulder Creek. Blessed be Butch. I feel your spirit running free across the sky forever. We will see you on the other side.

Part 2. OUR FAREWELL TO BUTCH Of course we are pained we weren’t there with him for the last few weeks and minutes of his life. If we knew he was going leave us, we would not have gone on the trip. But death sometimes come at inconvenient times.   In 2014, when we rescued Butch from death row through Lab Rescue, he was about a year old, badly behaved and aggressive. But love conquered all and he became a loyal family member and the best boy. He was King of Treats, he didn’t like kids much, and once ate human poop with meth in in it and almost died. When we got in a wreck on Highway 5 near Bakersfield he ran away from the scene of the crash and wandered around farm lands for five days until we miraculously found him—which we documented in our film “Water Makes us Wet.” He also stars in our latest film, “Playing with Fire,” where he walks with us on an active volcano, texts with Albert the white peacock and steals the ecosexy fire-play scene. He was a great photo model, ace ball player, performance artist, and workshop assistant. He bottomed to little dogs, especially Clare’s Sonoran Chihuahua, Buster. On the beach, Butch was ecstasy in motion. He was our exercise coach, therapy dog, body guard, healer and cuddle buddy. We will miss him dearly. (Our first photo with Butch the day we adopted each other at the pound.)

We had a beautiful reunion tonight with our dear friend, Paul B. Preciado. He’s the author of Testo Junkie, creator of the award winning film Orlando, was our curator at documenta 14, and we did many post-porrrnnn projects together in Europe. We adore him and he has changed our lives for the better, and over the decades, he introduced us to some of the most talented and brilliant people who are now friends too. We are happy to see that he’s in LOVE with Clara for the past few years, who we were delighted to meet and get to know tonight. Happiness! So, Paul is presenting a talk at noon called 43.000 Million Sexes. Then at 8:00 Beth and i will present our film, Playing with Fire, and do a performance ritual thing. So if you are in Zagreb, come on! Wear red!

I’m so grateful to have my art mom’s @ebethstephens and @anniesprinkled at the @artacademyofcincinnati for two days. They met with students, gave an inspiring lecture, played ecosex bingo, and screened Playing with Fire, their newest film, @woodwardtheater …it was an incredible visit and perfect timing for our students who are about to graduate. I love you Beth and Annie! Thank you for bringing your knowledge, talent, love, passion, and care to AAC!!! Thank you @artluvsara and @sinclairemu for making it happen! 💖🙏🏼🌎💋🔥

🌎✨ A heartfelt thank you to Beth Stephens and Annie Sprinkle for bringing your powerful, joyful, and deeply moving work to our community. Your presence, voice, and collaborative practice opened up space for connection, curiosity, and new ways of thinking about art, the body, and our relationship to the environment. The conversation you sparked will stay with us long after the evening ended. We’re grateful to have shared this experience with you—and to continue carrying that energy forward here at AAC. 🧡 #artacademyofcincinnati #playingwithfire #experimentalfilm #cincinnati

Our beloved ecosexual lover Albert is walking the red carpet in spirit. Ohio people! And tell your friends i. Ohio. Come see Albert's amazing stellar performance on the big silver screen. Tonight (Wednesday) at 7 in Athens Intl Fim fest. And next week in Cincinati as a benefit for CincinatiArt Academy. Albert lives through his art. He deserves an Academy Award for best performance by a peacock. This gorgeous song is in our film. Thanks to Mithu Sanyal and Matti Rouse who made it and let us use it. It's now Albert's theme song. Listen and you can feel his presence.
