OPENING THIS WEEKEND We’re open as usual today with cicchetti on the bar from 6pm, and from 10-4pm tomorrow for all your Saturday brunch / coffee / beer needs. We will, though, be closing early on Saturday for a private party - we wouldn’t normally, but as it’s not every year that the owners reach the combined age of 90 (or 480 in small business owner years), we thought we’d make an exception.

We had an excellent Ebdons away day yesterday - goat bothering @totnesrarebreeds followed by a potter and pizza @rumourtotnes (yum!) and a somewhat soggy barbecue in a cramped back garden with amazing meat courtesy of @hayesmeadoworganic

PANCAKES & CHORIZO
Fluffy dollar pancakes made with roast Crown Prince squash and @hodmedods pea flour (this dish is gluten free), @hayesmeadoworganic chorizo, a free range poached egg and a spiky salsa made with candy beetroot, @livingsoilgarden spring onions, green chilli and coriander. This one’s a riot of heat, sweet, crunch, soft and saucy ooze!

SPICED OMELETTE
A very English homage to the wonderful Thali… an omelette spiced with ginger, garlic, @livingsoilgarden spring onions, turmeric, cumin and coriander and stuffed (lovingly) into a @st_sidwells sourdough flatbread and served with a mixed lentil dal (made with English pulses from @hodmedods ), strained @trewithen_dairy minted yoghurt, lemon and cumin pickled cucumber and a homemade rhubarb, tamarind and date sauce. For all your dippy, sippy, zingy needs!

MUSHROOMS ON TOAST
Starting at the bottom and working our way up: @st_sidwells sourdough toast with garlic @bellandloxton Devon rapeseed oil, topped with @sauteed wild mushrooms, homemade almond ‘feta’ and a generous dressed herb salad of rocket, mint, dill and coriander. This version has a poached Lathy’s farm free range egg on it, but when it doesn’t it’s vegan.

We’ve updated our brunch menu for sunnier warmer days - there’s lots of variety and it’ll be served every Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Gonna bombard the grid with brunch spam so keep them eyes peeled for some tempting images, or get down Ebdons to experience the menu IRL.
As you would expect, the ingredients are as local as we can get them and fresh as the daisies in our lovely planter.
