We are honored to welcome Elissa Auther to the Spector Craft Prize Advisory Board. She is Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs and William and Mildred Ladson Chief Curator at the Museum of Arts and Design, the leading U.S. institution dedicated to contemporary craft, design, and art. A scholar and curator whose writing and exhibitions have shaped critical discourse around craft, fiber, and the decorative arts, she brings to the Spector Craft Prize an expert understanding of what American craft is, where it has been, and what it is becoming. @eauther
Hi friends! I’m firing up the gram after a very long hiatus and I have decided to migrate to @madcuratorial . Come join me! Last night I visited the windows at Bergdorf’s. As usual, @burkeandpryde knocks it out of the park! I have no idea who did the Loewe still life but it’s my crush of the week. Leaving for Design Miami tomorrow. See you there.
Happy to announce my new exhibition for @MAD about the artist, textile designer, design entrepreneur extraordinaire #VeraNeumann! Opens August 8th. It’s been a pleasure to to put this exhibition together, and I hope you get a chance to see it.
@StephenMueller Orchidaceous. What a title. What amazing work. Thanks to @CarrieMoyer , Sarah Watson and team for bringing the work to light. #stephenmuellerorchidaceous
@liza_lou_studio . Love this shimmering beaded piece, Lacunosis, 2018, in the new show at #lehmannmaupin. Lots of references, from Howardena Pindell to French Support-Surface of the early 1970s.
@CarissaTossin detail of a cast relief sculpture of the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles. Check her out in the terrific show at the Whitney—Indigenous Space, Modern Architecture
