New York has become a sushi-loving city over the last two and a half decades. 🍣 Today, Manhattan has some of the highest-quality seafood found outside of Japan, and the city’s top counters are as good as many respected places in Tokyo. At the link in bio, check out the entire Manhattan-focused sushi guide — and see it mapped in the Eater app. ✍️: @nadiachaudhury and @melissamccart 📸: @doubleknot_nyc , @joji.nyc (Eric Vitale), @exploresaishin (David Mitchell), @sushinakazawa (Getty Images), and @nakajinyc (Melissa Hom)

Sono (@sono_nyc ) swings open on Saturday, May 16, with clam linguine, duck-shaped desserts, and other fun Italian dishes with Korean ingredients and techniques. After working in Italian and Korean kitchens, Korean chef Sechul Yang plans to explore both cuisines at the new approachable restaurant. “I’m not trying to mimic Italian culture. I’m not trying to follow Korean culture,” he says. “This is about myself.” Read more about the upcoming opening at the link in bio. ✍️: @nadiachaudhury 📸: @stuffbeneats

Order this raj kachori chaat before you even open the menu at Ambassadors Clubhouse (@ambassadorsclubhousenyc ) in NYC. If you’re lucky enough to snag a seat at the newest hotspot in the city, this standout dish is a must. Tap the link in our bio to see why NYC's only charcoal tandoor Indian restaurant has a 12,000-person waitlist.

There's a casino going up in Flushing — and not everyone is happy about it. Some business owners and residents say they're worried about being pushed out while the Metropolitan Park folks maintain that this development is an economic game changer that will usher in over 20,000 jobs. At the link in bio, read more about the tensions surrounding this massive upcoming project in Queens. ✍️/📹: @carolinefromqueens 📸: Getty Images, Angelina Katsanis/AP Images, Lindsey Nicholson/Universal Images Group via Getty Images, and Ishika Samant/Getty Images

On his day off, Hamburger America (@hamburger_america ) owner (and burger scholar!) George Motz (@motzburger ) brought us to a few of his favorite spots around NYC, including Werkstatt (@werkstattbrooklyn ), a cozy spot in Brooklyn that’s serving up world-class schnitzel and other German-Austrian favorites. We could never say no to a pretzel the size of our head. 🤣 Tap the link in our bio to watch the full episode of “Chef’s Day Off” to see the rest of Motz’s NYC food tour.

This NYC hotspot only makes *two* of these chickens every day — and it’s easy to see why. Ambassadors Clubhouse (@ambassadorsclubhousenyc ), the most in-demand restaurant in the city with a waitlist of over 12,000 people per night (!), spends three days on each chicken. If you want one, run, don’t walk. Tap the link in our bio to see more from the restaurant, including how they’re making other Punjabi-inspired dishes like a seven-layered samosa.

This is NYC’s most impossible reservation — there are over 12,000 people on the waitlist every night. 😱 Ambassadors Clubhouse (@ambassadorsclubhousenyc ), the most in-demand restaurant in the city, is a sister concept to London's Michelin-starred spot of the same name (@ambassadorsclubhouse ), as well as two-starred Gymkhana (@gymkhanalondon ). The refined Punjabi restaurant is the only place in Manhattan cooking with a traditional charcoal tandoor. See how they’re making other hits, like their Royal Atta Chicken (a dish that takes three days from start to finish!), at the link in our bio, and let us know: Have you been yet? 👀

The team behind Williamsburg Peruvian standby Llama Inn shuttered the restaurant to make way for their new casual South American tavern. Cafe Bar J.F. (@cafebarjf ) opens on Wednesday, May 13, and will showcase foods from Peru, Chile, and Argentina "that you can go back again and again" for, restaurateur Juan Correa says. Chef Francisco Castillo will be cooking up plenty of grilled seafood and vegetable dishes at the new tavern, including grilled swordfish ($36) basted with an olive oil-white wine-garlic concoction and a return of his tres leches dessert ($14) from Llama San. Read more about the upcoming Brooklyn restaurant opening at the link in bio. ✍️: @nadiachaudhury 📸: @colesaladinophoto
