To have another creative capture your work through their medium is THE compliment.
The way BA detailed the original ceiling tiles, the light fixtures, and even the reflection of our mustard curtain in her piece … I’m obsessed. It’s her eye, her use of color, and her perspective. So happy our @eatatnative is a terrarium among others.

Carolina Grill started here in 1903. Built for a working city, feeding the tobacco district and the trains that ran through it. For over a century, this building has stayed a diner in one form or another.
•
We kept the foundation, brick, beams, ceiling, the frame.
But the idea moved forward.
•
Native Diner is our version of what the past looks like today, and a part of what Greenville is becoming.
•
Brunch today from 10a - 3p.

Blue Plate Special is Chef Luke Owens’ second annual chef collaboration series. This monthly ticketed dinner celebrates the past, present, and future of diner culture. Held one Tuesday a month from February through September, each event features a menu created in partnership with one of Luke’s visiting chef friends. Together, they reinterpret the humble roots of American diner food through the lens of their culture and culinary backgrounds. Expect thoughtful, nostalgic, and surprising courses that explore what it means to prep, cook, and serve “working class” food in modern America. Blue Plate Special isn’t just dinner; it’s a love letter to diner culture, community, and collaboration. Join us each month as we tell new stories, one plate at a time.
Alright my local lovers, I can’t stop thinking about this dinner so it deserves a permanent spot on the feed. Native Fine Diners very own Chef Luke is having monthly Blue Plate Specials till September, hosting decorated and recognized chefs from all over, to share their skills for a collaborative coursed dinner. Aprils visiting chef was Jamie Davis, of @thehackneywashingtonnc , meaning two of my favorite chefs would be preparing a dinner together so of course I COULD NOT miss this. Luke and Jamie created course after course of stunning, delightful, and amazing dishes. The menu itself was undoubtedly unforgettable, but the atmosphere, service, and thoughtfulness of every detail throughout the night sent this dinner over the top. When it comes to the chefs of Native, and the Hackney, it’s sure to be amazing. The line up for the rest of the coming months is equally as amazing, so be sure not to miss the next blue plate special at Native!
