What shapes your playlist? Which rhyme lingers, and why? This started with my record-digging journey and a conversation about music taste while driving to some Dilla or Madlib beats. Years of disbelief in algorithm-generated playlists and misleading streaming services result into this: reflections and categorizations in print.
Being design savvy, I use visual cues to recognize vibrations rather than humming notes, like those cue stickers on records. One chapter arranges album covers from my collection alphabetically; Another sorts all listened music by true tempo (against double-tempo)—a useful habit from my brief but inspiring time as a record selector. Only now I have a tool book to revisit and retrieve my collected sounds more efficiently.
For now, the book ends with undocumented tracks. Inspired by feeding quarters into jukeboxes, I created NFC tags with genre-specific tracks from the book. Tap them to listen to categorized songs anytime. Go here for what I‘ve been listening to online during work:

Ideating, designing, and binding 192 pages in under 4 weeks was a real stretch, however this marks the beginning of a long journey. Childhood sounds are hard to trace, but technology may offer a way forward later. I’ve been developing more graphic language during this sonic journey, including a typeface. I‘ll keep sharing what I discover.
Our latest show on @baihui_live is joined by Shanghai-based selector @easyfuse , bringing warm grooves to start or finish your workday right. Tune in for an hour of jazz, disco, house and bruk from artists including Jeff Lorber, Turbulance, Casba 73 and Newcleus.
Bike project, finally, took a year but feels like eternal. All memories from fixed gear age are carved into the body, all good ol’ days, let time tells time.

Along with the @exi.tofficial Beijing store launch, we collaborated our wardrobe into one, and we call that URBAN WANDERING SYSTEM. Start with a urban utility vest, which was inspired from trail running backpacks to serve daily uses with its versatile pocketing system, we look forward to more upcoming products in the future.

We connect dots, build bridges, all through those spinning wheels, this identity system has been evolving from paying tributes to those early inventors and historical moments, to what we can reflect from bicycles. After all, two spinning wheels connected with sticks is the greatest invention of all time 🚴
