Stoked to announce I’m starting to work as an engineer at @eastsidesoundstudio did my first session engineering the other day, with this amazing band put together by my man @zoharx ! Featuring @roybbmusic @tomoren.music @tanzerbass myself & special guests @ingridjensenmusic & @launoah57 So great to engineer at EastSide Sound, the mic collection is absolutely insane, every instrument had vintage or new @neumann.berlin microphones on them besides trumpet that had a vintage RCA. Can’t wait to be back in the studio in a few days for some more sessions. It’s an honor to be featured in this prestigious publication. The Villager has been around since 1933 and EastSide Sound has been started in 1969 and has officially gone on the record in 1972, so all of this is as original as it gets and I’m proud to be a part of this amazing New York City history. Very proud and honored to announce that the album “Impromptu” (which I recorded and mixed) by Korean pianist & composer #MijungLim @mijunglimpiano and also featuring trumpet player #NadjeNoordhuis @nadjenoordhuis , won the award for “Best Jazz Instrumental” at the 2026 #KoreanMusicAwards @koreanmusicawards yesterday in Korea. I am humbled to have been a part of the making of this album. It was recorded at #EastSideSound @eastsidesoundstudio and mixed at AudioConfidential @audioconfidential in New York City. I want to thank Mijung as well as Nadje for choosing to work with me. Yesterday at #EastSideSound @eastsidesoundstudio working with pianist #BenjaminFurman @benjaminfurmanmusica on his new album. This is the second album of his I work on (we recorded “Zalmo” back in 2024 and it came out in 2024). Second day of tracking with the great #ToninhoHorta @toninhohorta @toninho.horta.ofc @toninho_horta_guitar and his great band of young talented NY musicians. In this video, while they are rehearsing the next tune, I walk around with the camera so you can see (and hear) how isolated the various booths at #EastSideSound @eastsidesoundstudio are… first I walk through the hallway booth where the electric guitar amp is, into the live room where the percussionist is, and from there I zoom into all the iso booths… you can’t hear what they are playing, but they can all hear themselves through headphones and see each other through the windows and the glass… clean sounds without leakage and bleed….
