Last weekend, Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan visited the community of St. Mary Armenian Church gathering for a joyful and meaningful celebration as Mother’s Day was commemorated alongside the ordination of new acolytes during the Divine Liturgy.
During the service, Bishop Mesrop ordained 14 young men as acolytes and 4 young girls were blessed as choir members, marking an important milestone in their journey of faith and service within the Armenian Church. The occasion reflected the strength and dedication of the parish’s younger generation and their commitment to serving the Holy Church with faith, humility, and love.
The weekend was made especially meaningful through the leadership and support of Fr. Hovsep and Yn. Jennifer Karapetyan, the Parish Council, parish organizations, choir, altar servers, and the many faithful whose time, care, and devotion helped make the pastoral visit a memorable one for the entire community.

Ahead of next week’s Armenian Festival, the Women’s Guild of St. Mary Armenian Church in Washington, D.C. gathered together to prepare yalanchi sarma with incredible care, dedication, and love.
During his pastoral visit to the parish, His Grace Bishop Mesrop stopped by to greet and bless the volunteers, spending time also with Fr. Hovsep Karapetyan and with those whose faithful service helps bring the parish community to life.
Moments like these are a beautiful reminder that the strength of the Church is found in people coming together to serve, support one another, and share their time and talents for something greater than themselves.

Renewed in Hope, United in Purpose.
The 124th Diocesan Assembly brought our community together for meaningful dialogue, forward thinking decisions, and a shared vision for the future. From Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan’s reelection address to thoughtful discussions on proposals, new initiatives, and renovation plans, the spirit of hope guided every moment.
We also celebrated a beautiful evening at the Gala on May 1st, honoring those who continue to strengthen our Church. Congratulations to Ara Cherchian and John Kashian, recipients of the Armenian Church Member of the Year Award, accepted on John’s behalf by his son Fr. Sahag Kashian, and to Dr. Robin Darling Young, honored as Friend of the Armenian Church.
With sincere gratitude, we thank Fr. Guregh Hambardzumyan and the parish of St John the Baptist Armenian Church for graciously hosting the entire assembly in Milwaukee and welcoming our community with such warmth and care.
As we close this chapter, we move forward, renewed in hope, grounded in faith, and inspired for what’s ahead.
The Clergy conference concluded with a Badarak at St. John the Baptist Armenian Church, celebrated by Fr. Vardan Hayrapetyan, and included a hokehankist service in memory of the late Fr. Karekin Kasparian. The first day of the Diocesan Assembly followed, bringing together diocesan leaders for discussions on key issues, along with a panel and reports from various committees and organizations.
The Clergy Conference continued today as the clergymen of our Diocese gathered for a full day of thoughtful discussion, collaboration, and forward-looking planning. Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in meaningful conversations surrounding the many programs and initiatives being developed and implemented in the year ahead.
Among the key topics explored were the creation of a centralized database aimed at helping college-aged young adults feel welcomed and connected within their parish communities, as well as the development of a unified system for managing church-related documents across the Diocese. Additional conversations focused on strengthening language education, enhancing Sunday School programs, and expanding opportunities to better serve the faithful at every stage of life.
The Clergy Conference will conclude tomorrow morning with the celebration of Holy Badarak at St. John the Baptist Armenian Church, bringing this time of fellowship and shared purpose to a prayerful close.
