Pepper Keenan, Woody Weatherman & Bobby Landgraf of Corrosion of Conformity sat down with us backstage at The Roxy in Lakewood, OH — right before their show on the Good God / Baad Man tour at The Roxy. 🤘 We went deep on the new double album: recording with no isolation, no control room, and no clock. Stanton Moore’s drumming forced Pepper to rewrite 60% of his lyrics. Some cassette vocals made the final cut. Handcuff County was written and recorded live in one take. And the whole track sequence was mapped out before they ever turned the amps on. We also get into Barry Gibb’s Miami studio, Electric Lady, the legacy of Reed Mullin, and why making music that sounds human matters more than ever in 2026. Thrashers of Earth, you have hereby been notified of the arrival of SCATTER, and their debut release, Tech Hell Cyber Thrash. SCATTER is a thrash metal band from Texas and Alaska. Born out of pandemic hacker movie marathons and late nights soldering together guitar pedal clones, SCATTER is the brainchild of Spenser Hodge and a love letter to 90s cyberpunk and hacker culture. Spenser enlisted Texas guitar wizard Ruben Cantu and longtime Alaskan collaborator Justin Rodda to help realize this vision. The first material born of this collaboration now arrives with SCATTER’s debut EP, Tech Hell Cyber Thrash, a ripping and diverse collection of songs that run the gamut from classic death metal brutality to throwback speed metal harmonized leads, wrapped up in a paranoid, bloodsoaked thrash metal treatise on the interconnected hell world we call Earth. Deploying five incinerating tracks in under nineteen minutes, Tech Hell Cyber Thrash was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios in Oakland, California (Autopsy, Vastum, Necrot) and completed with artwork by Matt Stikker (Metallica, Power Trip, Billy Strings).
