This day changed my life…March 19, 2022 I went to my very first hip hop dance battle at @earnyourkeepjam in Oceanside, CA. It’s funny how one day or event can change the course of your life. My daughter had just joined Mini Shock as a 7 year old and the kids were expected to go to the battle by their coach @dancingirl619 🥰👍. She had joined only a month before this and I literally didn’t know anyone at this battle or anyone in the dance scene at all! I started videoing the kids and coaches this day so Sammy would have content to study and practice to…what it’s lead to is so much more. I know almost every person in this video now and so many others because I trusted my intuition and was just trying to be helpful I guess. It’s been a pleasure getting to know and video so many of you the last three years 👊🤩👍✨💯🔥. From SD to so many other places to watch battles now is my thing as a Dance parent that’s where the whole #dancedad thing comes from. I just never expected to be doing this but it’s really given my family and myself so many new friends, memories, and laughs. Reflecting back this year has been a lot of grief and coming to terms with co-existing with that feeling day to day.
