As a Seattlite and a fan of comics and comics history, this book from @chinmusicpress was a wonderful discovery. Sam Goto (1933-2017) was a depression-era born Japanese American who created a comic strip in the 2010s for the North American Post. It’s a semi-autobiographical strip about the first Japanese immigrants settling in the Pacific Northwest. It’s a lovely strip, sweet and funny, and a fantastic document of early Seattle history. And a beautiful book, to boot. I wish I’d had the chance to meet him!
Had a great time visiting @gareth_gaudin and @legendscomicsandbooks in Victoria yesterday. Absolutely fantastic shop, I’m gonna retire here and beg Gareth for shifts and just talk comics with him all day long.
