Bhob Rainey, seen here performing in a lovely living room, is a Philadelphia-based composer, saxophonist, and sound designer celebrated for his innovative contributions to contemporary, experimental, and improvised music. A recipient of the prestigious Pew Fellowship in the Arts and co-founder of the influential improvisational duo nmperign, Rainey has garnered acclaim for his groundbreaking work across disciplines, including collaborations in theater, dance, and visual art. He will be performing in a trio on our evening of three trios with John Moran (bass) & Joey Sullivan (drums) sounding very different than this reel you've just watched.

Solo improvisation at Fidget Space a few weeks ago. Listen to the whole thing, because you like music. Or hate it. Link in bio https://youtu.be/l7lPbc9rMhQ
I revised my bio, which, who cares? But it always reminds me that I made this back in the day to visualize stupid bios and make them playable. Sometimes, I have cool ideas.
They're taking giants from us this week. Eliane Radigue, whose music is now a fundamental part of our DNA, and Scott Foust, who pumped a ton of blood into weird music and added a few "enhancements" on the way.
That March 2nd stop I was looking for? Found it. Superb place in a superb community with superb residents. Bushel Collective in Delhi, NY. Solo set plus a local luminary. Thanks to @lunarsnake for the connection.
Two months of unrestricted hair growth "for the algorithm." Less than a month til I'm in Ithaca, Greenfield, Boston, and NYC with some dear old friends and maybe longer hair. Still looking for a stop between Ithaca and Greenfield. March 2nd, ideally. Hudson Valley, Albany, etc? Low key? No problem.
I look more like my dad in that second photo than I think possibly ever.
