Another Tac Ops North in the books! Huge thanks to Springer Precision for the support we could pass onto our students! The Springer extended basepads , optic plates and extended mag release are top notch. We reconnected with old friends , made new ones and look forward to sharing the range deck with you all in the future.
A solid two days of Movement & Pistol Skills at the @indianaswat conference!!
@e_squared424 and @c.waite_train spreading the good word to the Indiana boys, who ran the guns hard and moved well! We saw some impressive performances out of these two groups!!
Much of this movement course was built from the analysis of 300+ OIS bodycam videos—identifying patterns in how officers moved under pressure and opposition. Those patterns were broken down into trainable skills, then isolated into focused drills. We also pulled in the most applicable movement principles from the competitive shooting world to bridge the gap between performance shooting and LE street engagements, where both speed and accuracy matter.
This is an aspect of training that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves on LE ranges.
Reach out if you are interested in hosting a course.
Props to @springer_precision for supporting the LE community and providing giveaways!!

Yesterday was awesome ! Another LE only Classifier match in the books at @doubleeagleoutdoors_ . 15 months in this USPSA game and I am so thankful for the journey. Took a little longer than I wanted but I punched my M card in Limited Optics ( With a CO gun and from retention). First and foremost I have to thank @eltzchristina and my kids for supporting me and putting up with all the dry fire beeps. Secondly @j.young.488 and @bconklin11 for taking me to my first match. Ginormous shout out to my main mentor and coach @slampat . Every practice match he would give me homework to focus on in dry fire. @c.waite_train for listening to my failures and successful times as we vened to eachother frequently. What made the day even more special is that Chris punched his M card as well yesterday. To @drewblasting@marvl.mk2@habibi_tactical@prosalmonconsumer@aaronfrostshooting for all the positive vibes. To the cops, take that first step. Its hard , but take it, leave the ego at home. Learn lessons from the game take out what applies and make those around you better. You wanna shoot your first match send me a DM and im in!
Last week we wrapped up a custom 3 day FI workshop for LE at CT State Police. They hosted and the class was a combination of SP Instructors & other Instructors from the region. Highest overall skill set in a course we have seen … this region is doing good things and it shows!! @sarge_203 set this crew up for success through investing in his people and the torch was passed to stud @davetharas SP is in good hands 👏
First 1.5 days we worked best methods and practices for teaching hard skill decelopment, coaching styles & debriefing w/ student centered model, efficiency first and the importance of exploration at speed, performance on demand and what qualifications should look like.
Last 1.5 days looked at movement- what can be learned from competition style movement & then LE specific movements & agility. Often overlooked or trained poorly in legacy LE training.
Great 3 days, lots of learning, laughing and high level conversations were had! Can’t wait to go back.

Folks. June 27th, 2026 @e_squared424 and myself will be running a one day Practical Movement & Pistol Dynamics collab course at Double Eagle Pocono.
We’re going to jam. Lots of shooting. Lots of movement. It’s going to be awesome. Combining our backgrounds of LE and various competitive shooting formats, we’re going to break things down for everyone to understand based on each students unique background.
Don’t sleep on it. Hit either of our websites to register.
Sprint to shoot . Gun out vs Gun in holster, context will decide. Hard stop to shoot vs deceleration to shoot. Principle based approach . This course addresses a huge need in the LE Community. Explain the intent, Demonstrate the skill / Drill and then students Practice the skill / Drill. Best job I ever had!
A little behind the scenes of an @excelsior_training_group_llc_ course development sesh. Majority of these sessions are focused on building solid hard-skill drills, then finishing with larger, more open-ended drills that tie everything together.
Here's a Low-light Field Course and Modified accelerator drill, which will both be scored for Hit Factor at our Low-light Courses.
We still have a couple open spots for the upcoming Low-light Instructor Course in Livingston County. They will be gone quick so grab them while you can.

Our ethos at Excelsior Training Group is well defined: fierce competition and mentoring fellow law enforcement officers sit at the top of the list.
Exposing cops to a USPSA match with fellow LEOs present, and high-level coaching from a Grand Master, is a recipe for meaningful progress. The gains show up in both individual growth and program growth.
Shoot the match. Identify efficiency leaks. Focus on those specific skills in dry fire. Rinse and repeat, over and over.
Today the guns heated up, the sun was shining, laughs were had, and lessons were learned.
It really is that simple: surround yourself with like-minded professionals who want to drive the profession forward.
Special thanks to @slampat Sam Callahan and everyone who attended.
Our next law enforcement match will be April 7th at Double Eagle with Sam. We will be announcing another soon that will take place at the Cortland Pistol Club in September.
Absolutely love the grind. All in all last week trained with over 80 cops. The super cool guys needed faces blurred. All in all cops got homework, data to reflect on and laughs were had!
