Took my mama to Arizona for her birthday and a time 👏🏾 was 👏🏾 had 👏🏾. From a surprise tour of the Grand Canyon, to Monster Trucks, time with friends of over 40 years and more, I’m grateful for the memories, laughter and God’s favor that continues to surround us each day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAMA! 🎉🥰
Two weeks ago, we celebrated 20 years since walking across the stage as the Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School Class of 2005, and my heart is still so full! From hugs that felt like home to laughs that picked up right where we left off, it was everything I didn’t know I needed.
We may have grown up, moved away, started families, launched careers, and changed in so many ways, but the love, the energy, and the bond we share? Unmatched!!!
While I missed seeing a few familiar faces, I’m beyond grateful for the ones who showed up and showed OUT all weekend long. The planning committee did a phenomenal job putting this together, so thank you again for making the magic happen!
Here’s to growing, thriving, and continuing to support one another until the next major meetup. Cheers to the legacy we continue to build… together!
What started as a casual conversation with our Pilates instructor turned into a powerful meeting with her mom - a local real estate developer - and let me tell you, a seed has been planted.

This past weekend, I surprised my mom with a trip to Miami for her 60th birthday to experience something she’s always wanted to experience—NASCAR! I brought my family along for the ride, and we spent the weekend filled with love, laughter, and celebration. Not only did we toast to my mom turning 60, but we also celebrated my cousin’s 49th, my best friend’s 37th, and her husband’s 46th.
Shoutout to my amazing mom for always being the most lively, vibrant, and selfless person in the room—still radiating at 60 and not looking a day of it! 🥰🥳
May 9, 2009. My mom gave me my greatest surprise ever - my Dolce man.
November 4, 2023. I held him as he unexpectedly took his last breath.
When we arrived at the emergency vet at 3am due to breathing complications, I never expected to be shown an x-ray and ultrasound displaying a tumor pressing up against his heart as well as fluid around his lungs. I never expected to hear that he wouldn’t survive a surgery. I never expected someone telling me to make a decision around his quality of life. Even still, in all of his pain, he would attempt to stand for me. He would doze off in my arms as I held his oxygen mask. He still tried his best to be strong and hang on for me…
As hours passed, and it became harder to speak and see through the tears, I’m grateful that my mom was able to contact Ashley who appeared by my side right before Dolce took his last breath, communicating with doctors on my behalf. I’m grateful that Cammy showed up as they took Dolce’s lifeless body from my arms, and driving me home. I’m forever grateful for my mom and granny booking a flight that got them to me within hours. I’m grateful for all the messages, flowers, voicemails of tears and prayers, pictures and more from family, friends and coworkers.
While it’s weird, and I still have quiet moments of tears, I’m thankful for Dolce’s life, experiences we shared, and that we were able to be in Michigan around family just 2 weeks prior. I will always love and remember my first dog - the best dog ever - my Dolce man.
