Connection is trying to find the light in the other person they might not even see themselves ✨
Our connection workshop grew out of countless conversations between ourselves and with others about what makes social dancing connection magical, how it is that some evenings every dance feels super connected 🥰 and sometimes we go weeks, months or even years feeling alone and misunderstood on the dancefloor 🥺
If we found the one easy answer to this, we would make a post and pin it here, but of course there is not.
However in the process we learned a lot, and observed certain aspects of our and other’s dancing, being and behavior that promote this feeling of connection. Based on our own experiences in dancing and different fields, we wondered how we might improve these capacities in ourselves, and then how we might facilitate this process also in other social dancers in the form of a dedicated workshop, in a space that is safe and exclusive. This is the result of that process, and we feel very privileged we were able to get together with 30 amazing persons to take the time to learn and experiment 🙏
When we started our connection workshops, we had no idea how people would engage in it, or if they even would participate. But people really committed to the concept, opened up and took a leap of faith. And during the couple of hours we spent together, it’s beautiful to see how they relaxed, started smiling more, and found new ways to connect with each other.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin…
To everyone who came to my very first Bachata Aarhus event and both the workshop and the party, thank you from the deepest part of my heart 🥹💛
What we created together was so much more than just an event. It was energy, connection, laughter, nerves, excitement, and so many beautiful moments that I will never ever forget. From the first hello to the last dance, every single one of you made this experience feel so special.
Seeing you all dance, smile, connect, and just be present in the moment meant everything to me. Some of you I knew, some of you I met for the first time, but all of you became part of something that felt truly magical.
I put so much love into this, but what made it come alive was YOU. Your energy, your openness, your willingness to show up and be part of it. That is something I will carry with me forever.
A huge and special thank you to Lena and Nicholas for making my dreams come true. For five months I have been dreaming about this moment, imagining it, hoping for it and you helped turn it into reality. I will never forget that. Thank you for believing and trusting in me and for being such an important part of this journey.
And to my amazing volunteers, thank you for everything you did. Your help, your time, your support and your smiles made all the difference. This would not have been possible without you.
There were moments where I just stood and looked around and thought wow… this is really happening. And it’s happening because of all of you.
Thank you for every dance, every smile, every hug, every little moment that made this weekend what it was. I am so deeply grateful.
