Project update!
Edgworth Cricket Club is nearing completion and we are really pleased with the progress being made. The clubhouse and nets buildings are both nearly finished, with the clubhouse getting the final touches both inside and out.
It's been a fantastic project to work on, not least because this will allow current and future cricketers to enjoy playing and training at Edgworth and give them the best chance of winning!
We're looking forward to it being fully open and heading down there to watch a match.

DYSE is growing and over the last two weeks, we've had not one, but two new starters join us!
Sithu Aung comes with experience working on rail schemes and graduated from the University of Manchester in 2024 with an MEng in Civil Engineering.
Mathew Stefek graduated in 2025 from the University of Salford with a BEng in Civil Engineering after starting as an apprentice in 2019.
They are both already getting stuck into projects which is fantastic and we look forward to seeing them develop further at DYSE.

Great to see the River Lark project is now completed and awaiting opening.
This scheme represents a positive addition to the new neighbourhood at Abbots Vale and it's been a pleasure to play our part in bringing it through to delivery. The aerial views highlight the finished structure and once the housing estate is completed, it'll blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape.
Congratulations to everyone involved and we look forward to it officially opening in the future.

On Wednesday, we said a fond farewell and bon voyage to Grace Cawdron as she heads off on an exciting new adventure in Canada.
Since joining DYSE, Grace has made a fantastic contribution to a variety of projects, including her own design for River Lark, and we are all incredibly proud of all she has achieved. We wish her every success as she takes the next step in her engineering career overseas, and we know she'll do brilliantly.

Amber House is a contemporary home positioned in the heart of Derbyshire that has been designed to honour the village's historic and rural character while embracing modern, sustainable living. The house responds to the villages' stone-built heritage, blending old and new perfectly.
DYSE collaborated with @ceca_studio and the client to provide structural engineering services that enabled the reuse of materials on-site and supported the bespoke timber frame build. Completed in 2024, the house has become a local landmark, its stonework blending into the village's fabric as if it has always been there.
The project has recently been shortlisted for the RIBA East Midlands Awards 2026, a huge achievement and we are so proud to have worked on this project.

It's great to see strong progress on site at Edgworth Cricket Club during a recent visit by Barry Davies.
Brickwork is now underway on the upgraded clubhouse, marking the start of the new layout taking shape. Across the site, the steel frame for the new training nets building has been fully erected, giving a clear view of the training space it will provide for the cricketers.
It's an exciting time for the club and we're looking forward to seeing both elements of the project continue to develop over the coming weeks.

Some careers grow out of creativity, and Rosh’s is one of them. She grew up drawing, sculpting and getting absorbed in anything involving an arts and crafts box. Making things just felt natural, and she was always curious about how the world was put together.
As she got older, that creativity shifted towards something more specific. Motorsport caught her attention and she followed that spark to Bolton University, studying Automotive Performance (Motorsport) Engineering BEng at the National Centre for Motorsport Engineering. Her dissertation focused on ground effect and aerodynamics in classic ground effect era Formula 1 cars, which brought together both her artistic side and her love of problem solving.
But there was something else quietly brewing in the background. Rosh had always loved buildings, architecture and interiors. She found herself wanting to know how they were actually built, what held them up and what made them work. That curiosity is what eventually led her towards structural engineering.
And that’s how she found her way to DYSE.
Here she gets to blend everything that makes her tick, her creativity, visual thinking, technical problem solving and a genuine fascination with how structures come to life.
We love to champion those starting out their careers and Emily is one of our graduates who is already making a big impact at DYSE.
Emily joined DYSE back in 2023 while she was still studying for her BEng at UCLan, working part time as a BIM Technician and settling into the team straight away. After graduating in 2024, she stepped into a full time role as a Graduate Engineer and has been growing her skills ever since.
She has already worked on some brilliant projects, including Little Chalfont, Manor Road MVL and Rhondda Fach. Rhondda Fach was a big highlight, where she took on both the engineering tasks and the full 3D model and drawing pack.
Here’s how she describes her journey so far:
“DYSE presents me with many opportunities and grants me the freedom to approach the projects in a way that feels natural to me and helps me grow my knowledge and confidence organically.”
A bright start to a promising career. 💛
At DYSE we love that our team of engineers have careers that tell a story of skill, curiosity and proper graft. Today we are highlighting Rebecca Morgan CEng MICE, one of our senior engineers with around ten years of experience across design, assessment and construction.
Rebecca’s favourite design is Little Chalfont footbridge. She led the design bringing together technical detail and a real focus on how people experience the structure.
One project that stands out for her took place in Rwanda, where she worked with a local community and the charity Fika (Bridges to Prosperity) to help construct a new footbridge. It remains a highlight of her career and an experience that shaped how she sees the impact of engineering.
Her work also includes designing new bridges on major multidisciplinary projects such as the TransPennine Route Upgrade, along with assessing older structures like Putney Bridge as part of the Thames Tideway Tunnel project.
Rebecca’s interest in engineering began in a slightly unusual way. As a child she wanted to be a pirate but agreed to become an inventor instead because it offered all the adventure without the scurvy. That sense of fun and curiosity has clearly stayed with her.
A historic rope works mill is getting a new chapter. We’re working with @gastudio_arch to transform the original three storey mill into new homes, with more apartments and townhouses replacing the old industrial buildings. Twenty-eight homes in total, all shaped around a retained historic façade.
Our role has been to help blend heritage with modern design through careful structural and civils work that keeps the character of the site alive.
We're pleased to be helping this historical building find a new lease of life.

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the RIBA East Midlands Award for our Amber Cottage project in The Peak District National Park. We look forward to the judges’ visit later in the year.
Amber Cottage is built on a tiny site in the centre of a village in the Peak District. There were ruined remains of a small stone storage barn, just partial walls and a lot of rubble.
The project is the result of careful negotiation with the client, neighbours, planners, and service providers that has resulted in a cottage that looks as if it has been there for centuries but with a contemporary crisp roof and fenestration.

Rounding off #NationalApprenticeshipWeek in style with the @SCCApprenticeships Awards 2026!
We are so proud that our very own Harvey Davies was shortlisted for Professional Construction Apprentice of the Year. It is an incredible achievement and it shows that his hard work is paying off.
We were also nominated for the Small Employer of the Year and...we won!
Thanks Salford City College for a fantastic night, apprentices are the backbone of many businesses and it's great to see that get recognised through these awards.
