Detroit's The Supremes hardly need mythologising but it's striking how even their lesser-circulated material arrives already perfect. These two cuts sit squarely in that lineage, compact, efficient, quietly exacting. 'Come Into My Life' turns on a crisp, percussive opening that feels built for DJs long before DJs came looking, the rhythm section clipped and purposeful beneath vocals that never strain, just settle into place with a kind of serene authority. 'I Don't Want To Be Tied Down' carries a brighter charge, its swing nudging forward, hooks landing cleanly, the whole thing moving with an ease that suggests absolute control. Nothing here lingers longer than it needs to, and that economy is part of the appeal.
