Mehn… I’ve seen so many posts about Alex.
To be honest, when I heard about his passing, I didn’t feel the kind of sadness I’ve been seeing; and that’s because of a personal experience I had with him.
We met on a film set in 2018 where I was the production manager. At the time, I had a broken tooth, wasn’t looking my best… and for 4 days straight, he kept calling me “Mallam” on set.
I told him to stop, but he didn’t.
I stayed professional and let it slide.
But I won’t lie, that experience stayed with me.
I’m not sharing this to tear anyone down. I’m sharing it because it’s a reminder:
the way we treat people matters.
What feels like a joke to you might sit heavy with someone else for years.
Maybe he changed later in life; I hope so.
As for me, I’m reflecting…
If I’ve ever made anyone feel less than they are, knowingly or unknowingly, I’m sorry. Please forgive me.
Because one day, all of us will be remembered… and it won’t just be for the good we think we did.

🎥 NEW STORY: The Man Who Tracks Kidnappers — For Free
Not every hero wears a uniform.
Some sit quietly behind a laptop, tracing the untraceable — not for money, but because they can’t stand to watch people suffer.
For months, our team at Rep Naija Entertainment followed one of such unsung heroes.
A man who uses simple phone apps to help track kidnappers, rescue victims, and restore hope — all without charging a single naira.
His story reminded me why I started telling Nigerian stories in the first place:
to celebrate those who make us proud to say I’m Naija. 🇳🇬
I just released this episode on my new YouTube channel Mr. Naija, where I explore real Nigerian stories that inspire, move, and unite us.
👉🏾 Watch here: https://youtu.be/b-V5OY9BJ_c?si=29o98-1FWC4LweCm
I’d love for you to check it out, share your thoughts, and help amplify the work of everyday heroes among us.

When we met him, he didn’t want to show his face.
Not because of fame but because of danger.
He tracks kidnappers using just his phone.
His story drops this Sunday 7pm /@mrnaijaofficial
It’s one of those projects that remind me why I do this.

We just wrapped one of the most powerful videos I’ve ever worked on.
A man who tracks kidnappers in Nigeria… using nothing but his phone.

Excited to reintroduce myself!
I’m Don Ekwuazi. A Creative Filmmaker, and Content Strategist passionate about reshaping how the world sees Nigeria through authentic storytelling.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working across incredible productions; from Netflix’s Aníkúlápó to Accelerate TV, EbonyLife, Osiris, and my own company, Rep 9ja Entertainment among others. Each project has taught me one thing: when we tell real Nigerian stories with honesty and heart, they inspire pride, and connect far beyond our borders.
At Rep 9ja Entertainment, our mission is clear: to celebrate Nigeria’s unity in diversity, empower communities, and tell stories that correct stereotypes while showcasing who we truly are - resilient, creative, and full of possibilities.
As I continue to grow as a filmmaker and creative consultant, I’m committed to working with brands and storytellers who believe that Nigeria’s stories deserve the global stage.
If you share that belief, let’s connect and create something powerful together. Lets go!
