Special Bookbug Week Session at Dynamic Earth 🐛 Celebrate Bookbug Week with a special @bookbug_sbt Session at Dynamic Earth. Join us for a fun-filled morning of favourite songs, rhymes, and storytelling in the fantastic setting of Edinburgh’s Science Centre and Planetarium!
🌍 This special session takes place on Tuesday 19th May at 10:00am in the Ocean Commotion Soft Play.
🌍 This session is a free, non-ticketed event for under 5s and an accompanying adult.
🌍 Spaces are limited, and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
🌍 Buggy parking is available.

🦖 This week at Dynamites we're learning about our prehistoric pals: the dinosaurs! Enjoy storytelling, crafting and getting hands-on with triceratops teeth.
Dynamos | Ages 4-6
Fridays at 2pm
🦕 This week, the Dynamos will be travelling back to when dinosaurs ruled the Earth! Learn more about prehistoric predators, and enjoy a crafting session.
Dino's | Ages 6-12
Saturdays at 10am, 11.30am, 1.30pm or 3pm
🌍 This week, discover how early humans shaped the world and practise genuine archaeological dating methods in this session all about uncovering the past.

🐟 Set sail on a magical underwater adventure at Ocean Commotion Soft Play, where kids aged 0–6 can explore, climb, splash (not literally!), and play away in our ocean-themed interactive escape!

Through our week long programme in the iconic setting of Holyrood Park, a new generation of young scientists and explorers will be inspired to learn new skills, and grow their confidence.
Our exciting programme of activities is designed to give children aged 7-12 the skills essential to scientific success, encouraged through fun outdoor activities like rocket engineering and shelter building – plus lots of crafts and group games too!

🔭 What's Up: AI and the Sky | Presenter-led Show
We’ll be diving into some of the ways AI is being used to help understand the cosmos. It’s a BIG Universe out there and, as new instruments, surveys and space missions bring back ever larger amounts of pictures, data and questions, we’re going to need all the help we can get! We’re going to learn how to classify galaxies and search for things going flash in the night.

Happy Earth Day! 🌍 The Earth is at the centre of everything we do: from school workshops and seasonal trails, to daily Planetarium shows and amazing concerts, to weekly science clubs and community sessions, and even visits with Santa! Every event you attend, or activity you take part in, contributes to our charitable mission: to empower people with empathy and understanding for the Earth and its future.
In 2025 alone, over 11,000 people visited our centre to take part in free activities, and we welcomed 330 scientists through our doors. 4,000 participants joined in community workshops, and 30,000 learners visited our Science Centre. Plus, our online science workshops reached 38,000 attendees! That's thousands of people across the UK engaging with our planet, learning about its history, and thinking about what can be done to protect it.
Our team are proud to spread awareness and education about our planet every day through in-person and online outreach. This wouldn't be possible without your help - thank you, it means the world 💚

Running from April to June, with hands-on activities, exciting themes and weekly crafts, our science clubs are fun and inspiring.
