This book is a love letter to my hometown and to all the places I’ve called home, it’s a memorial for my brother and the friends I’ve lost along the way, it’s a treatise for a better America, it’s me being a goofball, and it’s a lot of things in between.
Some of the roads I’ve taken have had tragic endings, but a lot of them have led to auspicious new beginnings, and I wouldn’t be here without a lot of you.

The cat’s outta the bag and in the tree. Excited to announce I’m reuniting with my friends at CBS and joining the writing staff as an Executive Story Editor for the fifth season of FIRE COUNTRY.
Every once in a while I find myself in the same room as other folks who have been inspirational and influential to me as a writer. This past Sunday the person in the room was @helloellephanta .
When I told Celine my mother is Korean and she began speaking to me in 우리말, I panicked haha. But when talking about her film #TheMaterialists, Celine said something I understood completely—“Love is one thing that’s completely free.”
That’s one of those lines that’ll stick with me forever.

Super proud of Dylan for writing this book. He was the brother I wish I had growing up and was there for me every step of the way last year as Mia crossed the rainbow bridge and my Mom passing away from Leukemia. I’ll be keeping an eye on him for Rory as my brother as we continue to live on in their memories as best as we can.
Happy Publication Day to “Roadside: My Journey to Iraq and the Long Road Home” by @dyllyp !! The newest release from our Lawrence Hill Books imprint.
“Dylan writes his own story with stunning power and poetry, and makes a clear case that long-term survival for anyone can only be found in the deep connections we make to the people in our lives. This is one hell of a powerful, unputdownable read that will no doubt find comparisons to other great titles in the pantheon of war like “Dispatches”, “Jarhead”, and “The Things They Carried”.” —Rick Cleveland, Emmy-winning writer, “The West Wing” and “Six Feet Under”
If you’re in the Los Angeles area tonight, join Dylan and actor Jeremy Tardy as they discuss Dylan’s new book at @villagewellcc in Culver City at 6:30 pm.
Los Angeles friends, my book launch for #Roadside is June 3rd at The Village Well Books & Coffee in Culver City. My brother @jeremytardy is hosting. Can’t wait to see your faces.
