Still kind of blown away that this light existed for 15 minutes on their wedding day. đź–¤

There wasn't much snow this year, but we did get enough for one fun engagement session in the woods. 🌲❄️

JULY
We were lucky enough to find the perfect piece of land to lease from an awesome family of farmers ✨ We moved our lives to Donnelly and started the physically hardest few weeks of our lives 💪
AUGUST
We worked day and sometimes night to get all of our beds prepped and ready for sowing our first ever crops. We also planted cover crops on the outdoor plots to get them ready for next season. 🌱
SEPTEMBER
We planted over 20 different greens, radishes, carrots, and onions and crossed our fingers that we would have good germination and fast growth! Because we had to start everything so late in the season we weren’t sure what our yields would be!
OCTOBER
Our salads greens flourished and we started harvesting for our first ever market. We built a few outdoor beds, planted 1200 garlic seeds, and covered them in straw. We also found some time to actually have some fun and explore the valley! We went on lots of moto rides and rock climbing adventures.
NOVEMBER
We stated our delivery service and that really helped to get our name out into the community. We love bringing you all your weekly bag of veg! It makes me so happy to meet everyone and hear about the meals you make!
DECEMBER
Unusually high temps meant happy plants! It’s amazing to me how hardy our crops can be even after a snap of well below freezing temperatures ❄️
Although growth has slowed in these short winter days, We still have a lot of food in our tunnel! We are currently sipping tea and making plans for the spring and debating just how early we can start sowing again!
Happy New Year!! We are stoked for what 2026 will bring!!✨

What a year. We closed it off with a delightful ski through the woods. I would have never imagined that we would be living in Idaho, growing vegetables full-time, when we started the year off. It has been the most incredible experience, to shake everything up and force ourselves away from old routines.
We were talking today, about how the last 6 months slowed down our perception of time. It feels like we’ve been here for a year or two. A massive shift from the rest of our post Covid timeline.
If 2026 has nearly as much learning and new exploration, it’s going to be truly great.
I wouldn’t want to do it all with anyone else. @jess_woodhouse_ makes every day a good time. ❤️
A fun little fall ride towards No Business Lookout, outside of Donnelly. @jess_woodhouse_ wanted to get out on the DRZ's after harvesting a bed of radishes at @goldforkfarm .
We made it within a few miles of the lookout before super icy snow forced us to turn around. Beautiful day out there! 🛵🛵
The winter high tunnel dance. Tuck everything in at night. Open it up as the temps rise in the morning. Oh, and the purple daikon radishes are getting close!

We’re a bit over a month into living in a small mountain town.
I’ve realized that I miss sharing my work online, but that I also love the quiet rhythm of offline life.
In the age of AI slop, I don’t want to be a part of that endless scroll.. but I do want to stay connected with the world.
Still trying to figure that out. Anyways, here’s a beautiful wedding from a few years back.
We're leaving Portland.
Words that I didn't think I'd ever say. Portland pulled me in from the moment I first visited. I've always said it was my favorite city in the world.
It's time for a new adventure. A new pace of life. New surroundings.
Closer to family. Able to see old friends more often.
Memories from my childhood are calling me. Camping deep in the forest. Riding dirt bikes with my brother and dad. Wrenching on cars in the garage. My mom's home cooking.
Seeing my sister's family grow.
Being an aunt and uncle to Jess' niece and nephew. Seeing our parents and grandparents more often.
We'll both keep our photography businesses going.. but we're also starting a new adventure with @goldforkfarm .
Trying to farm in a challenging climate. Late Spring (Summer) frosts.. and early winters.. but it should be equally rewarding.
We've both loved gardening together. We greatly value any improvement we can make to the local food system in Donnelly / McCall.
In some way, we see small farms as the future. Hopefully, our tiny part in improving a rapidly degrading world.
We have a few more weeks in Portland. We hope to see friends before we go. If not, we'll be back often. We still love this place. It will hurt to leave it.
