When it came time to create my Final Year Project in LASALLE, I found myself completely lost. Nothing felt honest enough. Nothing felt real enough. But deep down, there was one constant that had always been there, quietly growing: fear. It wasn’t always loud—most of the time, it was a shadow, creeping behind every step I took. A fear I learned to hide, to bury, to avoid facing. I didn’t know what I’d find if I truly looked at it—mentally, emotionally, physically. Who would I become? What would I uncover? Still, something inside me whispered: if not now, then when?
With the next chapter of life looming—adulthood, work, expectations—I realized this was the time. A final gift to myself: to stop running and confront what had followed me for years. I had carried this fear in silence for so long. But maybe, if I couldn’t face it alone, I could face it with others. Maybe there was something universal in this private struggle. And from that thought, Beauty Behind The Madness was born.
I reached out to creatives from different fields—people willing to sit with me and speak about their fears, their scars, their silent battles. Through their stories, they created their own work based on their interpretation of fear and through finally confronting my own, this project began to take shape. It was never just an assignment. It was a confrontation. A conversation. A mirror. Because behind the madness, there is always beauty waiting to be found.
