TFW you run at Golden Ticket pace. 😩 Such a fun weekend at Canyons. Unfortunately my bad achilles/big toe/ankle complex (all on the left side) took a beating trying to keep up with the top dawgs — hazards of the job. 😉 My friend Claire @activatephysicaltherapy introduced me to shockwave therapy which helped a ton. Good thing because I’m headed out on altitude camp this week. One last job. 📸 @somerrunner / @ryanthrower 🎥 @ryanthrower

WE ❤️ AUBURN So great to be back in the Endurance Capital of the World — Auburn, CA — for another race weekend! Hallowed grounds for trail runners, there’s a special energy in Auburn. You can feel the history palpably — all the dreams that have been made reality on these trails. It’s a beautiful thing. Our Trailgating coverage is also off to the races. We started with the Canyons 100k preview show last night and will be back on air at 12pm PT to preview the 50k, make our golden ticket predictions, and potentially welcome a special guest. 👀 We hope you’ll join us! Shoutout @hoka for the group run this morning and for allowing us to be here. 🤗 📸: @ryanthrower #TrailCulture

Year 5 of the Freetrail x Daybreak Gorge Waterfalls tradition. The biggest and best edition yet. It’s a massive team effort to put this event together and I wanted to share a few bits of gratitude before falling on my face. First, to the runners! Thank you for entrusting us with your athletic dreams. It’s a responsibility we take seriously and we hope you went home feeling tired, fulfilled, and proud! To the volunteers. Thanks for selflessly devoting your time and energy to help other people do amazing things. You are the backbone of Trail Culture. To @daybreakracing . You guys are the best. We’re honored to work alongside your team of true professionals, co-creating what the event has become. A true 2+2=5 situation. To our @runfreetrail team. I love you guys and am deeply proud to be in the trenches with you everyday. To @acg . Thanks for helping to take Gorge to a new level while staying true to its roots. Centering the experience of every runner with care, creativity, and authenticity, while also helping us to dream bigger. Wow. Thank you are the only words I can find. Stay tuned for updates on the 2027 edition, including dates, registration, and other details in the coming weeks. For now, swipe to the end to read @dlbadger Gorge Waterfalls poem. Best sport ever. 📸: @somerrunner

Ten year old DBo would have never imagined that one day he’d be shooting hoops and recording podcasts with star athletes at Nike World Headquarters. Truly one for the bucket list. Thanks @acg and @yaomiao1 for the opportunity. 🙏 Fired up for Gorge Waterfalls race week! Best job ever. ❤️

REST DAY LIVE — TOMORROW 🍿 We’re turning the Rest Day Pod into an interactive livestream experience on YouTube, debuting tomorrow night (Monday) at 5pm PT. An avalanche of trail running news has hit the wire recently, including more big breaking news being announced tomorrow morning. As such, we feel compelled do the only thing we know how to do — roll up our sleeves, clear our throats, and freaking talk about it. It’s important you join us live, and if you feel compelled, contribute fire takes in the chat. The Docket: — Free agency updates — Kilian Jornet’s state of the sport essay — Freetrail’s new Realized Competition Index — Recent race results — Trail runners in the Boston Marathon elite field — Strava file of the week Our intention is to do the show on a weekly cadence every Monday evening — often an actual Rest Day for many of us. As the season begins in earnest, we expect there will be no shortage of material to review in this new live weekly format. Of course, if you can’t make it during the live recording, we’ll repurpose the audio into the podcast feed for later listening. Our co-hosts for the debut episode will be fan favorites @corrinemalcolm and @timtollefson . See you tomorrow at 5pm PT on YouTube. #RestDay #TrailCulture

Thank you, Red Bull! After nearly ten years, I’m officially being graduated as a @redbull athlete. I leave with nothing but pride and gratitude for this amazing chapter of my life. What an honor. When I started with the brand, I was emerging into my prime as an athlete with huge competitive ambitions. Receiving the validation of Red Bull’s backing was one of the seminal moments of my athletic career. Now, on the cusp of my 40th birthday, I’m comfortable admitting I’m no longer that guy. After honestly and collaboratively discussing our partnership for the last couple years, it made sense for things to wind down now. It feels right and I’m at peace. To commemorate the moment, I sat down with @aaronlutze — the person responsible for recruiting me to the brand and my longtime athlete manager — to reflect on the decade-long journey. I hope it provides a blueprint to athletes and brands alike as to how an important partnership can evolve and eventually end in a healthy way. A single post couldn’t capture the story, so we went long form in a way that made us both nostalgic. Topics: — Lessons from the graduation — The process of being recruited — Aaron’s internal pitch — The lifecycle of an athlete, embracing each chapter — The special sauce of Red Bull — Importance of transparent two-way communication — A lot more! This was honestly one of the most enjoyable and cathartic episodes I’ve ever recorded. I’ve been wrestling with the end of my pro career for a while so this was a comprehensive exploration of the transition every athlete ultimately has to navigate. If interested, you can hear the full conversation in the @secondnature.media feed. Thank you, Red Bull for the amazing support! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Wings forever.

🔁SPIRIT LOOP🔁 Two weeks ago, I was blessed to be drawn in the 2026 @hardrock100run lottery. A clockwise lap in the San Juans truly feels like a gift from heaven. I can’t freaking wait. These photos tell a profound story. The difference in body language and facial expression alone convey everything about the contrasting experiences I had on the course in 2021 and 2023. Total, euphoric bliss and abject, miserable suffering — I’m truly grateful for it all. For the first time in years, I actually feel MOTIVATED by this opportunity. Much is changing in my life in ways I’ll talk about soon — 40th birthday fast approaching, life and career changes — it feels like this goal is arriving at an auspicious moment in time. I’m eager to meet it with the energy and ambition it deserves. To be clear, I’m going for it in 2026. This is my final attempt at a comeback. I’ll need to make progress every single day between now and July 10th to get back where I want to be. And even if everything goes perfectly, I’ll still need a huge helping of good luck. I’m putting this out in the universe to hopefully manifest fitness momentum and increase personal responsibility. I ask you all, kindly hold me accountable for the next seven months. Best sport ever. ❤️
