This dog lived a long, kind, and beautiful life. Her head was on my lap to support through many of the best and worst moments I have ever lived. She represents a 14 year chapter of changes in life and I will selfishly and forever wish she was here to get me through the rest to come. So long Goon Dog, thank you for always being here for us. Feeling very thankful for ‘The Times’ this year. As adulting really sets in, I keep catching myself gauging life by them. Moments and memories, the things, the places, and the people they’re shared with. It’s crazy what comes, what goes, and what stays with time.
Grandpa passed away several years ago, but his duck hunting stuff is still here, and just looking at those old decoys floods my mind with memories of times we spent in the marsh, now more than 20 years ago. I’m glad I took them out for a float yesterday.
I hope someday when my times are up, someone will want to take some of my old stuff out to remember some good times and maybe make more stories with ‘em. Sorry for the strange and rambling pre-coffee thoughts… Happy Thanksgiving Gang. Yup, I only shot one Bufflehead.
Holy Smokes, I’m a dad. Sylvan Elizabeth entered this world Thursday Morning, happy and healthy.
It was simply incredible watching my beautiful wife become a mother. She and Sylvie are doing well. We’ve had a long road full of heartbreak getting to this point but we are so thankful to have this perfect daughter in our arms. We are eager for the adventures ahead. I pray that she’ll grow to be wild and love the wild.
For now, the whitetails will have to wait. God is good. #BudsForever
