Sempena International Women's Day today, i just wanted to share this one story.
Nama dia D. She was one of the girls in #pbmerapi10 last October. First time masa jumpa dia ni kat airport i honestly thought 'Yuna' ni datang nak send off kawan dia kot. Sekali tengok-tengok dia pun nak hike up Merapi sekali rupanya.
Now, she has never hiked a mountain in her whole life. Dia ikut trip ni pun terjah je. Bunyi macam cari pasal kan?
Who knew, for someone who has never hiked before, dia ni rilek je angkut hiking bag besar (oversized and certainly not the right fit for her petite body) and hiked up with us dalam hujan, menggigil kesejukan sampai ke malam. Time tunggu porters nak set up tent kat Pos (1 ke 2 tah, tak ingat) tu dahla all of us wet and literally shivering cold, dia ni chill je ajak menari sambil minum teh o panas. In a way tu cara memanaskan badan jugak la. Tapi point dia kat sini, dia tak whine langsung pasal sejuk. Padehal angin kuat and still raining time tu.
Next day, summit attack, kasut dia pakai (kasut pinjam dari kawan) rabak. Rabak tahap tapak tercabut terus. Pun dia tak complain. Dia lanyak je hike rocky area dengan beralaskan insole kasut tu yang maybe tebal dalam 3mm je. Masa nak turun balik ke campsite tu dia cabut terus kasut tu and hiked down in her socks. SOCKS. ON ROCKY SURFACES. I KID YOU NOT. Sampai campsite dia makan and chill macam biasa, pakai sandal and turun basecamp.
Through out the whole hiking event, mulut dia ni non stop berbunyi. Tapi satu complain pun tak dengar. Dia borak, gelak, menyanyi, borak, gelak, menyanyi. You memang.. tahla. I can't find the word to describe you, D. Maybe i'll settle with unbelievable for now. You're unbelievably inspiring. So much of spirit, wit, and positive energy in such a small body.
P/s: Sorry for calling you 'Yuna' walaupun bukan out loud. But i do hope one day you'll be the next best thing in the music industry, insyaAllah 💪
