🏴‍☠️ Pirate-Fest Rotenhain – Red Rum entern die Bühne! Freitag, 8.5., kurz nach 19 Uhr – die Stimmung beim Pirate-Fest war bereits am Kochen, als die vierte Band des Tages die Bühne enterte: Red Rum 🤘 Das Publikum gierte nach Rum, Spaß und Piratemetal – und genau das lieferten die fünf Freibeuter aus Nottinghamshire 🇬🇧 bei einem ihrer ersten Auftritte in Deutschland! ⚓️ Von der ersten Minute an zündeten sie ein energiegeladenes Feuerwerk und donnerten Songs wie „Drunken Pirates Ahoy“ und „Booze and Glory“ wie eine volle Breitseite in die feiernde Menge. Für die Landratten in Rotenhain gab es kein Halten mehr! 🍻 Als die Band dann die Reihen von Rohirrim und Mordor aufstellte und zur epischen Schlacht rief, war endgültig Ausnahmezustand angesagt: Zu „They’re Taking the Hobbits to Isengard“ explodierte die Crowd in einer Wall of Death – die sich direkt in ausgelassenes, gemeinsames Tanzen verwandelte. Pure Magie! ⚔️ Auch die neuen Songs wie „Make Port, Drink Port“ und „Bastion of Gnomes“ wurden frenetisch gefeiert und verwandelten das Gelände endgültig in ein tobendes Piratenfest. 👉 Für uns ganz klar: Der Auftritt von Red Rum war eines der absoluten Highlights des Festivals – selten so viel Energie, Spaß und Eskalation erlebt! After pirate fest, it turned out I was two hours drive away from Gladbeck Metal Bash, which is an incredible day of heavy metal over in Germany. Met up with the lads in @butcherspeedmetal and watched them rip hell once more 💪 I had AAA for Riot so had a quick chinwag with them about the rescheduling for 2027, and then had a "handful" of Pina coladas and ended up in Essen at Don't Panic for more beers after the live music. All the bands were incredible and the vibe of this whole event was amazing, I'd really recommend this to anyone and everyone. And I finally got to see @venator_official !

We've already started booking some of the lineup, but we want your input too! 🗡️Remember that this isn't a massive open air multi day mega millions festival, so suggestions like Running Wild or Manowar are probably a little too far fetched, so try to stay realistic! ✨Bands, please don't suggest yourselves.

🔥That's it, the first edition of STEEL OVER THE SOLENT is complete! We officialy SOLD OUT in the end, which I'm completely blown away by! 💎We've been to plenty of smaller traditional heavy metal festivals across Europe, and we decided we wanted to take the next step from our standard gigs and put on all dayer in Portsmouth! The ideas and the plans kept growing and we ended up with our little monster we had on Saturday! 💖This was all done out of our passion for heavy metal and for live music, all from our own pockets with no help from any sponsors. Switzerland Day 3 - A national park with a waterfall you could walk behind, went to Lauterbrunnen briefly and I think we rode the fernicular up to...somewhere, then went to Interlaken. Parking was free at the hotel, result.

Switzerland day 2 - Drove to Lucerne and wandered around. Went to see the devil's bridge on the way (the foggy one), accidentally booked ourselves into like, and ex-prison hotel, crossed the bridge of death, saw the big church, and just generally had a nice day. Parking was £30 (down from £40 because we woke up early)

Switzerland day 1 - landing in Zurich and spending the afternoon/evening there. Went to the Lindt factory and wandered around a bunch. Saw the Schrödinger's cat monument, it was there which was a relief. £25 parking at the hotel. Outrage.

Got the big poster up at the Wedge! We've been planning this for 9 months, it's heading towards a sellout, and I can't wait for everyone to be here for some heavy metal mayhem and for all of our plans to come to fruition! 8 incredible bands across the day, see you here on Saturday from 12:30!
