Some nights the trophy goes home with someone else.
Not every outcome reflects the work, and some outcomes are out of my hands.
Showing up as your truest self is always a win. Thank you to everyone who voted for me. Shout out to Rose Creative Works for capturing these shots 🙌🏽🫡

Today I had the honor of speaking to the 2026 graduating fashion design class at Seattle Central, and I walked away more inspired than I arrived. Their talent, curiosity, and dedication to the craft reminded me why I do what I do. There’s a fire in this next generation a clarity, a hunger, a fearlessness and it pushes me to keep growing, keep creating, and keep showing up.
To the students: thank you for letting me pour into you. You poured right back. And a special thank you to Tanya and the entire Seattle Central team for having me. I’m grateful for the space you’ve created for these designers to rise.

I’m excited to share that I’ll be part of New York Fashion Week this September with @tmemodels The Model Experience. My mom my first believer, my loudest cheerleader has been fighting through so much lately, her resilience has fueled mine. Every stitch, every look, every step toward that runway is dedicated to her.
Thank you to my followers and supporters for taking this wild journey with me. Let’s go🫡

Deyonté Weather is a Chicago‑born, Seattle‑rooted designer whose work merges architecture, ancestry, and American storytelling. As Creative Director of DWC, he builds sculptural garments that function as both armor and affirmation pieces that honor legacy while pushing fashion into its next evolution.
This collection is a study in transformation silhouettes forged from earth, metal, water, and memory. Each design stands as a monument to American craftsmanship and Black creative legacy, blending structure with emotion to show how power migrates, evolves, and redefines itself.

🍃 The DWC leaf brocade gown honors the land that existed long before the country. The ecosystems that produced the oxygen, resources, and stability every generation has depended on. Its sculpted silhouette rises like early architecture, a structure shaped by nature’s own blueprint. This piece is a tribute to origin, growth, and the natural foundation beneath America’s story.

🧡 Inspired by my mom’s favorite color and grounded in the 250‑year American theme for MFW, this DWC gown embodies the moment America first imagined itself.
Rooted in the Birds‑of‑Paradise flower, its silhouette blooms with sculptural and architectural intention, while its vibrant orange carries the fire of a nation an energy that refuses to dim, even after 250 years.

Dear Chicago,
There is no place like home.
This visit was different. I didn’t get the chance to see many people outside my immediate family, but somehow you still found a way to wrap yourself around me the moment I landed.
I rode the Blue Line. I stared out the window at the architecture that raised my imagination long before I knew what design even was. I ate the food I dream about no matter how long I’ve been gone a proper Italian Beef, and my favorite pizza from Italian Fiesta. I saw Blick, the art store that fed me through design school. I went to the Obama Library, my old middle school Dyett, and the blocks that shaped my earliest ideas of who I could become.
Going back to my old neighborhood made me emotional. Every corner held a memory. Every street reminded me of the boy I was and the man I grew into. I’m grateful for all of it the grit, the beauty, the lessons, the love.
Most importantly, I got to see my mother. That alone filled my heart in a way I can’t fully put into words ❤️❤️
Everywhere I went, the energy and people was warm, familiar, and full of love. And despite what the headlines may say, Chicago remains one of the most beautiful, soulful, and resilient cities in the world.
Chicago, you will always be home. I love you.
Deyonté
