The Stay Sensitized Conference #ssc2026 was truly well done.
Shout out to @officialaubreynoronha and the @hellohopecanada team, for all of the work that went into the planning and execution.
There is still so much work to do, and it was awesome to be in rooms with people who value equity, and are willing to roll up their sleeves in the trenches.
Time to feature ‘Last Night’ off of the latest project. I wrote this about a love triangle situation, then for this project, flipped it into a Bossa-Nova groove.

This will kick off the Stay Sensitized CONFERENCE “for those who refuse to go numb” to the harm of racism which has over 20 school boards and organizations represented already.
After Beware of Dogs, I had to tell a similar story, but from the man’s perspective, so I wrote, Keep Your Cream, and deliberately placed them back to back on this album.

Ever since the beginning of my career, @dr.dbiyounganitafrika has been there. We came up in this together. We’ve shared stages and taught in other countries. I’ve seen her bruk out to some dancehall in the club, so it was an amazing honour to open the envelope, see her name, and be the one to announce her as the winner of the 2026 Celebration of Cultural Life Award at the #TOArtsAwards
Wanting to do something different, Mother I Understand is a poem that I wrote from the perspective of a fetus, having a conversation with its unsure mother.
There was a time when this was a popular poem in my performance repertoire, and I love this new version of it.
