First new DVS NME track in more than a month. Short, dark, and to the point. MPC triggers SH4d, TR8S, MicroFreak, SE02, OB6, Hydrasynth, Peak, and Rev2. This one is called ‘Rounding Error’
Happy birthday to me. Today I’m pleased to finally release my 12th full-length album as DVS NME, titled Ghost Stories.
For the last eight years, I’ve kept up the tradition of releasing one LP every May 14th. My yearly marker, a way to document where I’m at creatively and give some kind of structure to the passing of time.
Ghost Stories features 15 new tracks produced since last year’s ‘Simple Sabotage Field Manual’. At its core, it’s an Electro record, but there are also traces of EBM, Synthpop, Industrial, Boogie, and IDM woven throughout.
The album artwork was captured by my longtime friend Rachel (@pixelina ) who has also handled the visual direction for the Post Punk Affiliated mix series over the years.
Lyrically and thematically, the album revisits some familiar anti-capitalist territory, but this one is also more inward-looking — touching on grief, guilt, isolation, anxiety, and depression.

Picked up an SH-4d used for a great price at my local Guitar Center by chance. I’m running it through Chroma to give it some additional character before it hits my mixer. It will be a nice addition for one off synth or drum parts that I don’t want to use one of my big dog synths for. I am a bit disappointed with the rhythm modulation options but with 4 synth tracks, if I want to slap an LFO (or motion record decay) a percussion sound, I can always just make one from scratch with the sound engines onboard. Certainly not worth the $700 MSRP but for $380 used it was a no brainer. 💥

I’m pleased to announce my 12th full-length studio album as DVS NME entitled ‘Ghost Stories’.
For the past 8 years, I’ve self-released one LP every year, all landing on May 14th which is my actual birthday. At this point, it’s less of a plan and more of a ritual of sorts. Partly a way to highlight the music I’ve produced in the past year but also as a way to give the years some shape as they pass.
The new album features 15 tracks that were produced since last year’s album titled ‘Simple Sabotage Field Manual’. It is mostly proper Electro music but also has influences from EBM, Synthpop, Industrial, Boogie, and IDM. The album art is a photograph by my longtime friend @pixelina - She has also been the creative behind the imagery for my Post Punk Affiliated mix series. The overall theme of ‘Ghost Stories’ returns to a similar anti-capitalist vibe but gets a bit more personal as well, dealing with themes of loss, guilt, loneliness, anxiety, and depression.
