Last night we were supposed to celebrate our union with so many beloved people in our world.
We had planned a truly unique wedding to reflect all the different shades and colors of who we are both individually and together as a couple.
A sacred ceremony woven from the essence of our spirituality and rituals. A family celebration of love and classic Israeli and Jewish wedding music. Hip hop, rap, beatbox and break dancing performances. A crazy after party opened up to our extended community. Ecstatic dance. Fire spinning. Ice baths. Circus tricks. Burning Man art. Sound healingโฆ
It was going to be epic. And we couldnโt wait to celebrate our love with everyone we love.
But sometimes Life re-routes you and the only thing you can do is surrender, learn the wisdom shown to you, and trust in the greater path.
So instead, we went to the beach with special items for a ceremony, and strawberries and whipped cream. We wore white and I wore my veil. We grounded in our love even more deeply, sharing our vows to each other with Mother Earth and Father Sky as our witnesses, deeply supported by the 4 elements around us.
As much as we wanted to celebrate our love with the world, what matters most is to bask in it directly with each other, together with the higher energies that wound our fates together.
Love can always win, no matter how hard war may try to tear us apart ~ we have the power to choose.
May we all keep our hearts open. Through all the mess, corruption, pain and grief in our world. May these only crack us open to love even more fiercely than ever before.
