It’s been about a week since I’ve been in Suriname 🇸🇷, thanks to the @dvcai Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program. I’ve taken some time to relax and take it all in. I’ve been enjoying the culture, the people, and the food. There is always something special to experience a new culture for the first time. #suriname🇸🇷 #dvcai

This month, DVCAI is proud to send Dudley Alexis to Suriname! 🎉
As a cultural anthropologist, Dudley enlightens the contemporary arts scene through his practice as an independent filmmaker and visual artist. The director and creative visionary behind several documentaries that unpack cultures across the diaspora like “Liberty in a Soup” and “The Creole Pig”, Dudley’s MFA studies at FIU are sure to expand after being steeped in the culturally-rich environment Suriname offers.
We can’t wait to see how this time enriches you, Dudley! ✨
And just like that it’s prep time for our next exhibition 🎬“What’s in Your Container?” you were legendary ✨
Stay tuned for what’s next…
