7ft letters of LOVE , up in flames 🔥 ❤️🔥
never underestimate the power of fire and intention. ⚡️
Every year this ritual asks something different of me. This year, it asked for everything. This year felt different. Deeper. Necessary.
I was joined by the beautiful and talented
@zoharportal , who recited a poem ( slide 8-9) that cracked something open as we stood in the fire of our own transitions. Love shifting, dissolving, and becoming. It was deeply cathartic.
🌬️❤️🔥
Guests were invited to write a letter of what they are ready to let go of … and then watch it go up in flames . Mine, was a long letter .
And it worked . Things shifted after that burn in the most unexpected ways.
🔥
“Tiliches” dancers from Oaxaca moved through the flames with us, a living tradition of transformation where scraps and fragments become sacred. They dressed in layered strips of color, masks, and the coolest oversized straw hats. ( I want one )
In alchemy, fire represents emotion, passion, love, anger, and compassion … and acts as a force of transmutation .
It has always been part of my work through neon, but in recent years I have been working with pure fire itself as the medium, drawn to its dual nature as both a tool for creation and destruction, and it gives me SO much joy and pleasure .
This ritual began in 2020 during a time of deep personal upheaval. It was a way for me to process heartbreak and transform difficult experiences into something meaningful. What started as a necessity has become an ongoing practice of release, allowing me to move energy, let go, and create space for something new.
Fire recognizes fire I guess .
Grateful to
@debsv and the
@dv.experiences team for trusting the vision and helping bring it to life.
