We celebrated a construction milestone today for the new Health Sciences Building on Main Campus!
Durham Tech, Skanska, Lord Aeck Sargent, and 35 North gathered for a topping-out ceremony, where the final structural beam was placed at the highest point of the buildingāmarking the completion of its framework.
Everyone in attendance had the opportunity to sign the beam, leaving a lasting mark and becoming a permanent part of the buildingās history.
We also hosted a similar topping-out ceremony at our Orange County Campus on Friday, May 1.
Second chances are on the menu inside the Peace Center at the Orange County Correctional Center.
Incarcerated individuals graduated from Durham Techās prison education culinary arts program this week, earning certifications, job skills, and new opportunities ahead of reentry.
The graduation celebrations continue! š
Yesterday, we cheered on eight graduates of the Durham Tech Prison Education Culinary Program in partnership with the Orange County Correctional Center.
This 12-week program is designed to create new opportunities for individuals incarcerated at the Orange County Correctional Center by providing the skills and training needed to pursue careers in the food and hospitality industry.
In addition to completing the program, Lincoln Williams also earned his GED and proudly wore a cap and gown as he accepted his diploma.
Since the launch of this partnership in 2024, 36 students have graduated from the program. We are honored to be part of their journey.
