Thanks for a fantastic Coach Appreciation Week so far! OOPS! Forgot to give your coach a big juicy thank you or a little gift or a muddy high five? Don’t worry — we have one week of practice left.
We’ve been zipping around town all week distributing cards and free ice cream vouchers to all our coaches, because our they are so awesome! They know all the best tunnels to ride through, have a pocket full of high fives or candy at just the right moment, and somehow figure out the right thing to say when you’re having a tough ride. Coaches SEE you and the hard work you’re putting in, and help you feel recognized for it. They probably even make you want to be a better rider — and maybe even a better person.
Our coaches put in tons of in-person and online training every year so they can show up armed with the info and skills they need to lead a rockin’ practice every time. Although many coaches are paid for their work (and many volunteer), most coaches put in many hours beyond their official practices — corresponding with parents, scouting locations, planning lessons and games, shopping for surprises, and more.

Darien Duce led an incredible bike maintenance clinic for the ladies last night. Good luck on your next adventure Darien. She is retiring from @mbsdurango next week after decades of service to the community. @darianh1 was also a star gravity racer for @flccycling and a top level professional DH racer and national champion.
Coach @sabinamt.art knows how to raise the roof with the littles. Guiding adventures is her passion and the kids love her. Thanks for leading the youth Sabina. Did you know she is also a jeweler? Check out her art at the @durangocreativedistrict this month of May.
