This week's #FridayFeature is Natalie Miller, a #CAHSS student majoring in #DUPsychology, with minors in #DUCommunications and mental health & wellness. After graduating in 2026, Miller plans to pursue her doctoral degree in clinical psychology and join a research lab.
"My time at the #UniversityofDenver has improved my understanding of human behavior and mental processes, and I feel inspired to pursue a path towards independent research," Miller said. "My goal is to further understand the experiences of marginalized communities and inform more inclusive healthcare practices."
Her #1 lesson learned at @uofdenver so far is that she can be a strong leader in her community: "I take pride in creating a safe and supportive environment where people feel valued."

Congratulations to our very own Chair of the Psychology Department, Kateri McRae, on receiving the 2026 Inaugural Service Award for the Social & Affective Neuroscience Society!
Dr. McRae's research explores how the brain supports emotion and cognition. She studies cognitive reappraisal, which looks at how shifting our perspective can strengthen emotional well-being. She identifies different ways people can generate and apply these strategies. Through her research, teaching, and leadership, she is deeply committed to advancing both science and community well-being.
We are so proud!
