Duo Touch Therapy teams were honored to participate in an event at Jefferson Barracks supporting service members for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.
From wagging tails and happy smiles to quiet moments of support, our Touch Therapy dogs were there to remind attendees that they are seen, valued, and never alone.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to spend time with our teams, and thank you to the service members and organizers who welcomed us into this important event and conversation.

Trainer Tuesday spotlight!
Meet Crissy Smith, our Chief Canine Officer and most tenured trainer at Duo Dogs. Crissy plays a vital role in overseeing the breeding, training, and placement of our Assistance Dogs. She’s also the proud primary handler of Duo Ambassador Dog, Evie!
The community and culture at Duo feel like home to me.”there’s nothing more satisfying to her than seeing it all come together. When it comes to classes, puppy class has her heart (and honestly, we get it ). Her favorite dog breed? Labrador Retriever… of course! In addition to Evie, she also has a retired breeding female, Ginger, at home.
The community and culture at Duo feel like home to Crissy, and we’re so grateful for the experience, passion, and heart she brings to Duo, and for the countless dogs and clients she’s helped along the way.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the incredible dog moms, and the amazing mama dogs who make our Duo community so special.
From the Volunteer Puppy Raisers and Breeder Caretakers who pour their hearts into raising and loving their pups, to our dedicated breeding moms like Duo Dogs Gemma and Garmin (and the other incredible dogs in our breeding program waiting to have their first litter), you are all part of something truly meaningful. Helping bring the next generation of Duo Assistance Dogs into the world.
Because of you, futures are changed, independence is built, and extraordinary bonds are formed every single day.
Thank you for all the love, care, and wagging tails you nurture, today and every day.
Duo Dog Billie’s ready for the camera.
Duo Dog Piney’s ready to steal the moment.
These goofy interactions are more than just fun; they’re part of how our dogs learn and grow over their two years of training.
Become a volunteer to enjoy moments like these during kennel enrichment and beyond. /community/volunteer/
Heroes come in all shapes, sizes, and breeds. Duo Touch Therapy Dog Spirit, embraced Superhero Day at St. Louis Children's Specialty Care Center, and donned a second cape to give kids a little extra boost of confidence before their appointment. Our Duo Touch Therapy program is not breed specific, and is based on each dog's temperament. From 4 lb poodles to 120 lb Mastiffs, our teams are truly unique superheroes!
We had a wonderful evening on Thursday celebrating our Spring Brick Installation at Duo Dogs 💙🐾
Each brick represents a story, a commitment, and a lasting impact on the lives of the people and dogs we serve. It was a beautiful evening filled with gratitude, reflection, and connection as we recognized those who are truly part of Duo’s foundation, both past and present.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all who continue to support Duo Dogs in such meaningful ways!
Duo Dog Bucky is proof that Advanced Training is not all work and no play. Between learning new skills and building focus, our dogs in training still make time for the important things… like rolling in the grass, soaking up the sunshine, and just being dogs. Because balance matters, and a happy dog is a successful dog.
What does your gift to Duo support?
It supports moments of connection, comfort, and care across our community.
Your generosity helps power our Duo Touch Therapy teams as they visit partner facilities, bringing calm, companionship, and a reason to smile to those who need it most.
It also sustains our building, a safe and welcoming space where volunteers and clients come together to train, learn, and grow. It’s where bonds are built, confidence is strengthened, and life-changing work begins.
Because of you, these moments happen every day. Support the work. Support the connection. Donate today. Link in bio.
