So gentle parenting is a widely accepted method of raising children… so can we normalise gentle wifeing please🙏
Sichuan fried chicken sandwiches every Friday from 1pm
My happy place is my kitchen, when I’m serving customers. I feel comfortable, feel totally natural. The one exception to this rule is when I’ve got a Chinese customer, they approach me with an inquisitive look. I know what’s going to happen, I’m breaking out into a cold sweat, my team are looking at me, the customer opens their mouth and starts talking to me in Chinese and I’m frozen solid, I eventually mumble something fairly nonsensical and wait for one of my team to jump in😳.
So from this day forward, I will be improving my Chinese. And that starts off with trying to beat my 3 year old daughter at Chinese language battle
THIS OR THAT 🥡
We quizzed John, the founder of @dumplingshack on food from the market.
Who should we ask next?

A day trip to London can only mean one thing, it’s time to try a new market and on today’s agenda it was Spitalfields Market. 🥳
Full of food, fashion, art and music it’s the perfect destination for a perfect mix of everything. 😚

@wearemelt_ : cheese toastie with tomato and basil soup 🥣 (LOVE the soup and toastie combo)
@dumplingshack : pork pan fried soup dumpling 🥟 (a must try but be careful 😂)
Spicy dry mix wonton noodles 🍜 (also 10/10 but make sure you can take the heat 🔥)

It’s not without its faults but wow, what a place China is.
Still a lot of spitting on the floor, personal hygiene is sometimes questionable and the squat toilets are…interesting.
But there’s so much to see and do, and the food is incredible. We hit up Shanghai, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, hit us up for recommendations.
And each time I go back to Hong Kong I have a renewed energy to learn more about where I’m from. I think it’s an age thing, I look back and regret not taking in the traditions from a younger age. It’s too sad to think that if I don’t pass this knowledge down to my daughter it erodes away at our culture
THIS SCHOOL HOLIDAYS KIDS EAT FREE 🥡

Yum.
Mums and dads, Spitalfields have got you sorted for the whole of Easter where kids under 10 can eat for free! Good food and lots to do during the holidays
A shout out to all the women on #InternationalWomensday. And if anyone wants to book me for some Cantonese speaking events my fee is very reasonable ☺️
2 reasons I decided to post this dumpling picture, firstly it’s a very delicious looking dumpling, nice and plump, crust looking golden delicious. We’ve really nailed what we do 👌
Secondly it was taken by my very first customer back in the school yard market days by London Fields who’s travelled from Australia to get his dumpling fix.
Now I’m guesstimating that in 10 years we’ve taken around 1.5 million orders, factoring repeat customers I reckon we’ve had around 150,000 unique customers. Now obviously im blessed for every individual who’s ordered with us, you’ve given us so much happiness, but that first order from @poojou , that’s what started the snowball because for the first 2 hours of trading I was standing in an empty metal frame stall with a little campfire stove, no customers and I was wondering what on earth I was doing with my Saturday. Eternally grateful that first order came in
