There’s a new dark money group, St. Pete Energy Alliance and they have direct ties back to management at Duke Energy.
Now they’re spending big money to spread propaganda, and we all know who’s going to end up getting the bill for this…us!
We can’t let dark money decide our rates for the next 30 years!

We know Duke is bad for our community, but one question that comes up is how can we trust the alternative?
If you’ve lived in other cities, you may have had public power without even realizing it. From Los Angeles to Long Island and everywhere in between like Nashville, Key West, and even small cities like Bushnell, public power is not a new idea.
Public power means electricity that is owned by the community and run to serve people, not shareholders. It puts local voices in charge, keeps decisions closer to home, and reinvests money back into the places we live.
A better energy future already exists and now is our opportunity to fight for it here!

BREAKING: Clearwater’s feasibility study for public power is out and it confirms what we already knew -
🚨Duke Energy is ripping us off!🚨
And it’s not surprising, Duke is already trying to say this independent analysis is somehow flawed and there’s “no guarantees”… unlike with Duke Energy, where we can guarantee we’ll continue paying some of the highest rates in the state 🥴
We’re already seeing a huge influx in ads from Duke and their lobbying buddies. NOW is the time to get organized and fight back!
Join us for canvassing on Saturday October 4 to continue spreading the word!

About 1 in 4 Americans already get electricity from utilities that operate not for profit. Yet officials at all levels of government often act as if the private sector is the only way to provide essential services.
As investor-owned utilities report billions in profits, public power is once again gaining attention as a proven alternative.
Public power has worked before and still works today, so why not see if it could work here too?

🚨proposed plans to be right next to Duke Energy infrastructure
All of this comes just months after a $6 billion investment from Brookfield Asset Management into Duke Energy Florida. Just like the proposal in Citrus County, we have questions.
But don’t expect any transparency from Duke Energy. They could make up to $1.5 billion in revenue each year if JUST the Fort Meade facility operates at full capacity.
They will always put their bottom line above our communities. Now more than ever, we need to Dump Duke!

Duke Energy has been quietly filing paperwork with the state Public Service Commission about how much they overcharged Floridians for the 2024 storm season.
It’s becoming increasingly clear they rushed their numbers just to start collecting. New filings show Duke knew their estimates were off months earlier and should have ended or reduced the recovery charges.
But instead, they kept taking our money. That’s not a mistake.
That’s a choice.
It’s time for real accountability and transparency. Join us and help make sure this issue can’t be ignored.

New reporting from the Tampa Bay Times exposes who Willy Ritch really is and what’s at stake for St. Pete because of people like him and executives at Duke Energy.
If we want a different outcome we need people to speak up now. Contact city council today and tell them to fund a feasibility study for public power!

A data center in the middle of Florida’s Nature Coast??
Yep. And Duke Energy’s name has been tied to this project for more than a decade. Now data centers are suddenly part of the plan, and the timing couldn’t be more telling after the massive investment Duke received from Brookfield just a few months ago.
Duke is no stranger to sacrificing the environment to boost profits. And they’re not going to stop just because we ask nicely.
If we want to stop the endless cycle of profit over people and nature, we need to start talking seriously about replacing Duke with public power today.
