Yesterday was a great day. I stayed at home alone and constructed these two monitor cameras for the forward bulkhead on my shuttle build. With 50 parts each and fully poseable, I went to bed feeling accomplished.
This morning, whilst looking over the next stage to work on.. I noticed that there are two cameras on the aft bulkhead too, and that I should've built FOUR of them! Grrrrahh!
Today I treated Red5 to a visit from the car doctor/metal magician that is Steve Bell, Bell Automotive. An annoying flat spot on a wheel arch is now a thing of the past! Happy car, happy me.
Well as it's Star Wars Day I thought I'd reveal my 'new' car to replace the old Kia.
I introduce to you.. Red 5
Red because its a little bit red, and 5 because it's my 5th car.
(It has a few bits to sort out, but we're loving it).
My 'new' car has a few untidy bits in the interior so I'm slowly sorting them all out. I've replaced all the air vents as they were literally falling apart. Had the tracking recentred. Then the gearstick gater was old and worn looking. So I stripped it down as a pattern and made a new one. Little by little 'she'll' be pretty inside and out.
47days. On the 11th December I had an op to destroy a kidney stone, in my right kidney, before it caused a problem. I should've been in and out the same day. Something went wrong and I was internally injured. Leading me to be hospitalised for 6 days. Upon release I was extremely pained, passing urine hurt, vibration caused a lot of pain, even walking was very uncomfortable. Right up to 8.15am this morning. At that point I finally had the stent removed from my right kidney, the process was over.
And like a switch was flipped I feel back to normal. I'll take it steady to get back into my working, but my 47days of hell is over!
Another car completed. A 1/16 Porsche 356. Not a great one. The kit was horrible. Originally a snap fit model which I attacked from end to end. A few annoying kit flaws still making themselves known, I'll have to live with them. As before I added working steering, suspension, lights, door magnets and engine detailing.
Next up.. a Space Shuttle. I'm equally looking forward to and dreading it.
I'M HOME! I'm home, home in my quiet creative Christmassy home, and I'm wearing clothes again not some floaty split back moomoo dress and pressure socks.
6 days of seering pain and discomfort is over. Still not out of the woods yet but for now..
My soul is singing and my fingers are twitching. Merry Homemas to Meee!
