A wee fun blooper from last year's filming at @duddingstongolf - just hole a four footer on the last green for me! 😆 This didn't make the cut for their promo film, which you can view on their homepage along with some fresh images I made for them duddingstonproshop

HISTORY BITE | Ronnie Shade (MBE) — Duddie legend ⛳️ Duddingston Golf Club will always be associated with Ronnie Shade — widely regarded as Scotland’s greatest amateur golfer, and for a spell in the mid-1960s, one of the best amateurs in the world. Ronnie’s achievements are the stuff of club folklore: 🏆 Five Scottish Amateur titles in a row (1963–1967) 🌍 Walker Cup representative for Great Britain & Ireland (1961, 1963, 1965, 1967) ⭐ Low Amateur at The Open (1966) and leading individual at the Eisenhower Trophy (1966) 🎖️ Awarded an MBE for services to golf Here he is giving some tips to another legend - not Duddies own Sir Sean lookalike - Hinton Bootland, but Sir Sean Connery himself. If you could ask Ronnie Shade for help with just ONE thing, what are you choosing — keeping it ‘right down the middle’, hitting more greens, getting up-and-down, or holing more putts? 🎯👇 #seanconnery #history #golfclub #jamesbond #ronnieshade

We’re delighted to share that Duddingston Golf Club will be attending Scottish Golf Tourism Week 2026 in Edinburgh (10–12 March). It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to promote our historic course, connect with golf tourism partners and showcase everything our club has to offer. If you’re attending SGTW, we’d love to connect — see you there! ⛳ #sgtw26

Duddingston Golf Club is delighted to welcome Dougie Melville as our new Course Manager. With over 20 years of experience in golf course management, Dougie brings a deep passion for the game and a proven record of delivering high-quality course conditions. For the past decade, he has been Head Greenkeeper at Falkirk Golf Club, where his team have made a significant impact on course improvements and overall playability. Before that, Dougie spent 10 years at Silverknowes Golf Course as Head Greenkeeper, further developing his leadership, agronomy, and turf management skills. Earlier in his career, he held deputy and head roles across several Edinburgh golf courses, gaining a broad understanding of different course environments and challenges. His journey in greenkeeping began with an apprenticeship at Swanston Golf Course in 1996, followed by work as an irrigation engineer, where he also contributed to the construction of Dundonald Links in the early 2000s. He is passionate about continuous improvement, sustainability, and creating an exceptional playing experience for members and visitors alike. We believe his experience, dedication, and love for the game makes him a strong fit for Duddingston Golf Club.
