I often say that making clothes feels personal to me. Maybe it’s because I see how many hands touch our pieces and how much care lives in the process. Every cowrie shell, bead, or crystal is still hand-sewn by someone I know. At least for now. And I’m aware that will change as we grow.
The people behind our clothes are people who have been with me, helping us shape this vision. I guess that’s why I get emotional launching a collection, it’s not just “new pieces online,” it’s a timeline of real hours, real hands, real belief.
I’m fully aware I’m not changing the world, and some days I’m afraid I might even be adding more noise to it by making more things. But I do know one thing- we never make just to make. We make because we still believe there’s beauty in intentionality.
My mom always talks about the “madeira nobre” the direct translation means noble wood. A time when things were made from real materials, carved, crafted, built to last. It’s very tied to an older design philosophy in Brazil where furniture, houses, and objects were built to age beautifully rather than be replaced. The idea that objects were meant to live with you for a long time.
I think about that often. It’s my version of a Roman Empire, how the objects around us shape our memories. That objects can simply existed in a room and hold entire chapters of a life. I can so vividly picture my grandmother sitting on her sofa and the scent of her home in Rio. Some memories feel almost physical like that.
Rio just makes me nostalgic

Between emails, deadlines, and pretending I’m not behind on everything, we (very on brand) decided last minute to shoot in Paraty. It wasn’t a vacation, but I did catch the sunrise, so for a second, it almost felt like one.
