I recently worked on this exciting project. It's been a great opportunity to learn new skills, have a lot of fun, and create something wonderfully quirky. Check out the link on my profile for the full story behind the transformation.

During my time in the Caucasus and Iran, I started to collect papers to experiment doing collages and drawings. In Tbilisi, I had coffee in a cafe that used paper placemats with different patterns. With them I created random characters, such as the one in this random animation.

At the bottom of Gori fortress stands the Memorial of Georgian Warrior Heroes.
The memorial consists of eight massive sculptures sitting on stone blocks.
Among other things, Gori is known for being the birthplace of Stalin.

I took the cafe at the Georgian Museum of Fine Art as my working office. I would spend most days there working on different projects. At some point I organised a sketching meetup there that had a good turnover and was really fun. In a spread, I sketched some of the participants, the decorations and Luka’s car.

I had long wanted to visit the remains of Persepolis, the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire located near modern day Shiraz. Once I got there I took out my watercolours and inks and started to make sketches under the suffocating Persian sun. These techniques are great to quickly capture impressions of the places I explore.

Through social media I met some creative people and we went to sketch at Tbilisi's Rezo Gabriadze Marionette Theatre. We were drawing the clock tower of the theatre when suddenly a bunch of people gathered around us and blocked our view. It was then when we learnt that the clock does tell the time in a special way.

I took a day trip from Shiraz to visit some of the ancient sites. Naqsh-e Rostam is the necropolis of the Achaemenid dynasty dating from 550 BC lasting until 330 BC when Alexander the Great conquered Persia.
Thanks to @shima_touristguide for the lovely day.

After a day exploring Tbilisi I discovered Jazz Cafe Singer in the old city. Jazz clubs are an excellent place to get inspired and to enjoy a positive vibe.

When I was staying at a hostel in Tbilisi, Georgia, back in 2019, there was a man seemingly going through a rough time. He would wake up in the middle of the night, would put the headphones on, and play techno at high volume while he organised a bunch of random papers he had in a plastic bag. A couple of days later someone realised that he had a gun in his bag. We were fairly confident that it wasn’t a real gun, but still it wasn’t an ideal situation. Nevertheless, he posed great when he fell asleep in the living room.
