💭🦋Elisa Duca’s 𝓓𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓶𝓼 𝓸𝓯 𝓥𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓜𝓪𝓬𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓮𝓼 (2025) imagines the autonomy and agency of objects when liberated from their functional significance in daily life. They emancipate themselves from the labour value assigned by humans, subverting urban routines and queering infrastructure. From where and how do dreams arise? 💜 Elisa Duca is a Berlin-based artist whose multimedia installations examine transcultural experiences and post-migrant identity. Her practice invites a rethinking of binaries—digital versus real, global versus local, human versus other-than-human—to explore the possibilities of in-between spaces. Trained as an actress and a graduate of DAMS at the University of Bologna, Duca has received grants from the Goethe-Institut, the Capital Cultural Fund, and the Berlin Senate. Her work has been shown at Kunstquartier Bethanien, Haus am Lützowplatz, and Sophiensaele in Berlin, and internationally at Gallery 1 Shanthi Road (Bangalore), Eaton Workshop (Hong Kong), and SET UP Art Fair (Bologna). In 2025, her work was presented at KINDL Berlin and the IFA Berlin technology fair. @ducaelisa @saloon.hongkong @saloon.network #SpoiledSystemSlowSabotage Venue courtesy of @goetheinstitut_hk

SALOON Network is pleased to present 𝑺𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝑺𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒔, 𝑺𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝑺𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆, a collection of video works that explores fermentation not only as a biological process, but a radical logic of transformation across personal, social, digital and infrastructural realms. Bringing together practices that queer ecologies and infrastructures, the works unsettle fixed categories of function, identity and usage. Within them, relationships unfold between bodies, machines and more-than-human agents, proposing cross-species intimacies and alliances that resist extraction and mastery. Come drift with us on Friday November 28th at the opening of my solo show at @berlinweekly ✨ where two of my works slowly move toward one another. Both works emerge from my long-term attempts to dissolve hierarchies, between human and object, nature and culture, the digital and the analog.
“Drifting Seaweed” evokes movement without direction, a gentle surrender to the current. Like seaweed drifting between the tides, the work exists in a state of in-between—moved by human and non-human forces in peaceful coexistence.

Since 2022, AI has been part of my queer feminist multimedia practice. What began as an inquiry into material agency has extended naturally into the digital and computational realm, where my engagement with AI is playful, ambivalent, and open to radical imagination. Hope to see you on Friday Nov 28th from 6 pm @berlinweekly ✨💖 #driftingseaweed #magicalmanti #soydreams #ducaelisa @ducaelisa #aigenerated #digitalart #hybrids #performingdata #nonhumanagency #artinanthropocene #posthuman #performativeinstallation #posthumanism #posthumanart #contemporaryart #mixedmedia #berlincontemporaryart Fotos by Elisabeth Scholz and Carsten Eisfeld

We are thrilled to have @ducaelisa on board 🔮🐲🧨🐲🧨🐲🔮 The artistic practice of Elisa Duca (she/her) is characterized by transcultural experiences of foreignness and has its place in post-migrant society. Her performative, multimedia installations invite us to suspend binary notions of digital and analog, global and local, human and non-human, and to explore the possibilities of in-betweenness. Her works focus on the interplay between human and non-human beings in everyday life and open themselves, in the process of creation, to the influence of non-human actors. Elisa Duca has been living in Berlin since 2004. She often researches in Southeast Asia and exhibits her work there as well as in Europe. She is a trained actress and holds a degree in theater, film, and art history from the “DAMS – Drama, Art and Music Studies” institute at the University of Bologna. She has received grants and artist residencies from various Goethe-Institutes, the Capital Cultural Fund, and the Berlin Senate Department for Culture, among others.

_ The artistic practice of @ducaelisa (she/her) is characterized by transcultural experiences of foreignness and has its place in post-migrant society. I am very happy to announce that I will be part of the #movementfestival at @eaton.hk 24-hour format featuring diverse dance styles and performances. ✨ I will present an ASMR multimedia performance created for this event, featuring 3d scans of objects and cityscapes from Berlin and Hong Kong: Sweet Cosmic City, ASMR Dream What do objects do late at night when they stop being in the flux of everyday life? “ASMR Dream” summons the agency of objects found in urban landscapes. Performance and video evoke their strangeness, fragility and strength by exploring their soundscape. The performance is part of the project “Sweet Cosmic City”, an ongoing attempt to build a non-binary Heimat (home) where familiar strangers come together in a post-gentrified, post-colonial future. A place to celebrate a community created by locals and foreigners, humans and more-than-humans. Visitors are invited to join in on the performance, a microphone will be ready for them. Join me in Hong Kong on Sunday, November 24. At 00:20 More info @eaton.hk Elisa Duca is a mixed media artist based in Berlin since 2004. In her performative installations she creates vibrant mixed states which invite you to suspend binary ideas of the digital and the real, the global and the local, the human and the more-than-human and to explore the potential of the in-betweenness.
