Happy #TransDayOfVisibility to our trans and non-binary siblings, friends, and family. In a world where visibility still takes courage, it’s vital that cis people practice real solidarity and show up every day. Today and always, we celebrate the love, strength, and brilliance within our community.
We’ve announced our theme and our Grand Marshall this week, and we have one more announcement to make. We’re delighted to welcome Lynne Tracey as the new Chair of Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride.
Lynne has previously served on the boards of TENI and Equality For Children and brings a wealth of experience as an ally and advocate for our community.
2026 GRAND MARSHALL ANNOUNCEMENT: PHILIPPA RYDER
Following on from our theme announcement yesterday, “One Story - Many Voices”, we are delighted to announce this year’s Grand Marshall. She is a storyteller who has shared her voice with our community and, through her activism over the past two decades, has made an outstanding contribution to our community and many organisations that work tirelessly to advance and protect our rights.
This year’s Grand Marshall is Philippa Ryder. Philippa has served as a board member of Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride and TENI. She also served as Chair of Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride and was instrumental in the establishment of LGBTQ+ groups within the public service. Her memoir “My Name Is Philippa” bravely shared the lived reality of a trans woman in Ireland.
Speaking on the appointment, she said, ’I am delighted and honoured to be chosen as Dublin Pride’s Grand Marshal for this year. Thank you to the Board and Executive of Dublin Pride for this accolade. I first attended Pride, standing on the sidelines, in 2004 or thereabouts, holding my 9-year old daughter’s hand as we watched the parade march down O’Connell Street. It was an emotional occasion and now, some 23 years later, it will be a highlight of my life to represent our incredible rainbow community as Grand Marshal. Since I first came to terms with myself as a trans woman I have received so much support from my wife Helen, my daughter Jenny, family, friends, work colleagues and so many others. Over the past 25 years I have tried to give support back to those who need it, through telling my story and working with many organisations and government bodies. It has been a joy and - despite the current challenges for our community and many others - I’m looking forward to a more inclusive, diverse and accepting future.’
DUBLIN LGBTQ+ PRIDE 2026 THEME: “ONE STORY – MANY VOICES”
Do you remember your first Pride?
For some, it’s colour, noise, joy — a city alive, a moment where it lands: you are not alone.
For others, Pride was smaller, quieter, more cautious. And for many, that’s still the reality today.
Yet across time and place, one truth holds: we are not alone.
“One Story – Many Voices” speaks to what connects us across different lives and experiences. No single voice can represent us all, but every voice matters.
Our community has never been one thing. It is shaped by many identities, histories and ways of moving through the world. Some stories are loud and luminous. Some are quieter, still unfolding. All of them matter.
This theme is not about sameness, but solidarity, about standing alongside one another, even when our experiences differ.
Pride is not a single spotlight. It’s a constellation, made brighter by every voice.
However you show up, in celebration, defiance, reflection or joy, you are part of it.
Your voice matters. Our story matters. Together, we create something none of us could hold alone.
One Story. Many Voices.
