dublab DE is an online radio & community broadcasting from Cologne and beyond, created to offer a space for music, culture and creative exchange. Founded in 1999 in Los Angeles and established as a German branch in Cologne in 2015.
What began as a passion-driven initiative has grown into a platform shaped by a dedicated collective of volunteers, artists, and listeners. Today, dublab DE promotes curiosity, experimentation, and connection, bringing these values into the structural framework of freeform radio.
Everything we do is made with care and offered freely to our community. Keeping the station running, however, requires ongoing time, energy, and resources behind the scenes. We are deeply committed to continuing this work and to providing a hub where diverse voices, sounds, and ideas can come together.
We see dublab DE as a platform and opportunity for musical exchange and exploration beyond conventional genre boundaries. Our program is consciously curated by us and shaped by you, creating a diverse listening experience.
The station thrives through the synergy between artists, labels, DJs, and contributors who share similar values and visions. Through this collaborative and editorial approach, we aim to create opportunities for people to be seen and heard.
With our studio space in the heart of Cologne, the project aims to foster a place where people can come together, both physically and conceptually. We warmly invite you to stop by on a broadcast day to chat with us or simply listen to music together.
In contrast to large streaming platforms or major players that rely primarily on algorithm-based systems, we believe in the importance of thoughtful programming that benefits both artists and listeners.
With your support, dublab DE can continue to expand its role as an open cultural platform. We encourage you to take part in sustaining and shaping the future of dublab DE through a donation or a small monthly contribution to give us even more certainty in our planning.
We’re grateful for the past decade, which have been inspiring, educational, and rich in perspective. The dedication of artists, collaborators, volunteers, and listeners has shaped dublab DE into what it is today. Building on this foundation, we look forward to continuing the journey together, growing thoughtfully and creating new opportunities for collective cultural work in the years to come.
To celebrate 11 years of dublab DE online radio and community, we’ve produced a limited edition anniversary tee featuring a screen-printed design. The shirts are made to order and will go into production once all pre-orders have been collected at the end of June. Shipping will begin shortly after.

A full eleven since that first day we went live on dublab.de. This time around the crew marked another year of freeform radio in Cologne and beyond back at Hansaring on a super sunny Sunday, running all the way from 11am to 10pm. Lovely people brought the Hansaring area and its greenery to life, surrounded by friends, regulars and plenty of new faces. Nothing but good energy all day, with the soundtrack handled by our residents alongside a few local guests. You can find the entire collection on our website.
Thanks to @theresaskuchen and @ernstkaffeeroester for the delicious treats!

What a year it has been, with so many wonderful encounters, concerts, releases and lots of great music. Just before the holidays, we’re getting together again in our neighborhood to ring out the year. As always, we’ll start at 4pm in our studio at Hansaring 94, where there will be snacks and homemade mulled wine. At 10pm, we’ll head around the corner to Elektra, where we’ll spend the rest of the night. Come by, bring your friends and say hello.
